There is are excellent articles on Spark People that will help you calculate you BMR which is your Base Metabolic Rate. You need to know this in order to know how an effective calorie range for you. BMR is how fast your body burns calories. Do a search in the articles and put in "calculating BMR" and trust me it does work. Saves you alot of time.

It was somewhere in the range of 2,050 - 2,200...give or take.

I applaud your efforts to stay within your calorie limits. Yeah, it was too high. But it sounds like you're committed to do this. I agree that you can lose 2 lbs by Feb. 2nd. Good luck!

The good news is that you can definitely lose 2 pounds by February 2nd. That's 10 days from today. 2 pounds in 10 days is healthy weight loss. You CAN do this!

Hello. I'm sure this is not the first attempt at getting in shape for many of us. I know I've tried many times. As a result, I often have to change my goals every time I start a new. I figured this time, I would break my long term goal down into smaller chunks. Instead of saying 'I want to lose 20 pounds by July', I entered my goal as 'I want to lose two pounds by February 2nd'. Well, I accidentally set the date to Feb. 2nd 2015!!! As a result, my caloric allowance was very high. I just realized today that I have been seriously over-eating. RATS!!!! I thought I was doing pretty well over the last 2 weeks. Now I have to start over. Again.
