Welcome to all the newbies.

was a good day for me yesterday. stayed on track...3 pounds lost and holding. got all my water in and went and did 25 step ups. in case u don't know what that is, I stand at the bottom of steps and go up and down 25 times on the bottom step...( step aerobics) handicapped is im limited in what I can do. but the object of the is to keep moving. however that may be.

Glad to see u all here and doing the best u can. that's all we can do...

Today I will start wii or videos I bought some exercise shoes but now to decide on shoes to wear to airport.
I leave next Thursday.
I will lose and I will get on plan and stay there.

Haven't done really good so far this week. I haven't been able to make it to the gym to workout so have tried at home with some success. I did 30 minutes in the gym on the elliptical yesterday and have a 60 minute Zumba class tonight.

I have stayed within my calories for the last week since I have restarted with Spark and I am down 2 pounds. Just need to work on the water - that is the hardest thing for me.

I just restarted SparkPeople and I am looking for a challenge group but dont want to join one of those huge groups and just be a random post in the mass mess of posts.

10 leg raises, I can do! It's a leg workout too, so it's perfect timing! I'm going to try to get all the way through a pilates video today, depending on how I feel. I did a 15 minute routine yesterday! For someone with bronchitis, I feel like that's pretty good!

Didn't do much yesterday. I did get in a mini challenge of 10 Jumping Jacks, Walking Lunges,
Squats, and 10 more Jumping Jacks.

Today I got in 2 SP videos from the Cardio Blast DVD equaling 20 min. I'm planning a walk outside yet but it is only going to happen if the weather cooperates. It is suppose to rain 10 days in a row so far it has been 2 days of rain off and on all day.

tip of the day is: if ur calories allotted is 1200-1500 eat to the higher if not ur body will think ur starving it and shut down and u wont lose not even an ounce. so get closer to 1500 as u possibly can...good luck

One thing I've found that motivates me when I REALLY don't want to work out is watching a workout video on youtube. (My current favorite is Blogilates with Cassey Ho). Usually within the first 5 or 10 minutes, I'll restart the video and actually do the workout.

Why does this work for me? Seeing people who are stronger, more fit, and have a better body reminds me why I want to do this. Seeing what they do to achieve this makes me want to do it too. It gets me out of my lazy mood, and before you know it, 4 or 5 videos and one hour later has gone by!

hey everyone. started my lifestyle yesterday...lost one pound already....9 more to go..whoo hoo! glad to see that u all joined me. remember to get in that water daily 8 glasses. remember to come in and post daily..for encouragement and motivation.

i know some of us might be saying 10 pounds? that is too much! cant do it! But i here to tell u i did it for 7 months straight, b4 i got sick with cancer and had dropped out for a yr and a half. if u stay within ur calories that are alotted and if u track everything that passes ur lips u can do it too. I was never one that stayed on a diet more than 3 weeks at a time, and then I'd get discouraged and dropped off.

i lost 75 pounds just doing calorie counting and tracking to make sure i never went over. i barely exercised ...i am handicapped and i cant do exercises in the conventional way but i flapped my arms while sitting and leg raises. very minimal stuff. the idea was to keep moving and i did that. so i know with discipline, encouragement and motivation u can too..

Lets do this!!! emoticon

You can count me in Stormy96. It is always easier to lose the pounds with other people than it is alone. I have 30# to lose before December and cholesterol numbers to lower also.

That amounts to 4.5kg and I have just done 5kg for June and am setting 5kg (11lbs) for July so yes you can certainly count me in on the challenge. My personal goal for July 31st is a drop from my present weight of 130kg to 125kg.

I agree, a loss of ANY sort is better than a gain! We can strive for a goal of 10# (or 5#), but any loss is a win!!! :)
I'm going to weigh-in daily... If I don't, the pounds tend to quickly creep back on (as they have as of late)! I always struggle with maintenance! Grr...
Anyway, I'm looking forward to the extra support here... Let's go, ladies! xx

I'm in! I'm going to use this morning's weigh-in as my starting weight.

158 pounds. BMI of 27.1 (overweight)

I will be losing the weight with eating a little healthier and a lot of pilates.
