I do Leslie Sansone walking but for me I have a fitbit so it figures all that out for me so I don't have to enter my walking. It gets put on my dashboard on my fitbit account so I can see it there but also I can see my burn, steps etc. throughout the day with the actual fitbit itself that I wear. I agree if you want more accuracy a heart rate monitor is great or fitbit is pretty accurate but not as fine tuned as a heart rate monitor will be.
Sadly, that's actuall the entry spark has for "walk away the pounds" (the aerobics low impact one). But it gives MORE burn than walking 4mph.
Frankly, I'd stick with logging it with the walking. It's a lower burn and much more realistic. CHEETARAH is right that walking in place just is not the same as walking in space, so you should not use Spark's own listing for the dvd, which gives a higher burn than even plain walking.
If accuracy is important, you need to buy and wear a heart rate monitor.
I walked the 3 mile Leslie Sansone dvd today and I was wondering how many calories this burns (I'm am 229 lbs, 5'5). It is a 45 minute dvd and when I put it into the fitness tracker as 45 minutes walking 4.0mph (3 miles, 15 minutes per mile) it is coming out to be 380 calories. This seems like a lot?
