use lactose free or non dairy milk substitutes like almond or coconut milks and milk or butter or their substitutes don't help the baked good rise,) yeast does that. I don't drink milk ..nor do I use it when I am baking also equal parts (in other words if the recipe call for 2 tbsp of oil use tbsp of applesauce) unsweetened applesauce can replace your oils. happy baking.
Hi I was wondering if it is ok if I use lactose-free butter and lactose-free milk and lactose-free cream and lactose-free margarine when baking? I'm worried it's going to either be a bad combo or it's not going to rise, because I know that the butter helps it in some way, so does the lactose-free butter, milk and cream help as well or will it hurt it? Thanks.
