I am sorry about your experience. That must have been really scary to have gotten the messages after the fact. It's not your fault that you missed the calls/messages, and I hope that you don't blame yourself for that. It sounds like you did the best that you could, and you are looking forward to find the best path forward. Good luck, and a complete recovery to your grandmother.

What an awful thing to happen to your grandmother and you!
My goodness - no one is going to find fault w/ you when you needed to rush to her side.
At times like that, you just do what you can. If you have a stash of nutritious foods to take in a lunch cooler, great. But sometimes you don't, so just make the best choices you can.

Whatever you do, just immediately pick up and the next great choice you are able to make, go for it. You really don't have to be perfect 100% of the time to be healthy.

First priority is grandma. Now, you.

Hang in there--You can do this. Remember every minute of every day allows us to make healthy choices regardless of what has happened in the past. Forgiving ourselves and moving forward is what will allow us to give up the diet mentality and reclaim the healthy life we deserve to have.

I have done soooo well up to this week. I started diet/exercise on February 4 of this year and really, really stayed on track. Saturday, my mother in law was having her Easter dinner. So I planned to have extra calories that day. No biggie. I did have extra calories and they were delicious, but I still kept it sane. No extra cake, no extra helpings.

Then Sunday came. I was on track another healthy day. Then I checked my voicemails from the day before. My elderly grandmother called 6 times the day before. She had fallen and couldn't get up. Then she drug herself to the phone to call the fire department to get her up. She lives alone. As I was listening to messages she rang in. I answered to find out the firemen put her on the couch and left. She couldn't walk. There she sat for going on 18 hours, no food, no medications, no restroom. You get the picture. I am the only relative in town/state. So I rushed to her. But then it was soon lunch time.. Pizza Hut, then dinner time, McDonlad's, then the next day I was taking her to the hospital...Taco Bell, cafeteria food, local pizza for dinner. The week truly just goes along like this....I had several healthy meals and even managed to stay within calorie limits 2 days. But I feel like a fat blob. I'm sure many of you know the defeated feeling. I did hit up my Zumba class 3 times, but still yucky feeling.

I guess I just needed to tell someone that would understand. Hoping tomorrow is a better calorie day. I do have Zumba at 9 to kick off a healthy day. Thanks for listening.
