Thanks for all the feedback! I didn't think it was a big deal, but now I know thats the excuse my husband is using to get out of working out with me :) First thing in the morning its a little rough to get out of my warm bed and then go stand in the garage, but after a few mintues of warming up I'm using not feeling the cold at all.

I agree with other posters - you just have to do it smartly. Make sure you have layers, if it is SUPER cold make sure you are covering a lot of exposed skin, and don't forget to hydrate - you still need water even if it isn't sweating hot outside!

Also, my doctor recently told me that cold air can worsen asthma symptoms. Just something to be mindful of if you suffer. Good luck!

I've run in -20C..I'd run in any temp except that's as cold as it ever gets where I live.

I just ran outside in the snow/ran/slush mix. I feel fine. I was actually quite warm in my gear (except for my thumbs. I need good thin-but-warm gloves!)Lots of runners run outside in the winter, so if there were ill effects, I'd imagine there'd be articles/studies about it. I know the cold air hitting your lungs doesn't always feel pleasant, but I don't think it's bad for you. I was more worried about my dog (Dobermans have a pretty thin coat and not great cold tolerance) than I was me! (He LOVED it, though!)

No truth to that. As long as you're dressed properly, there's no reason not to exercise outside in cold weather.

I live in MI and I work out in my unheated garage, so if its 25° out, the garage is probably only a few degrees warmer. I don't sweat as much as I do in warmer temps, but I still get a good workout in (doing P90, on level 3-4). My husband insists this is bad for muscles and overall health. Any truth to that? I've been doing it for a few weeks now and I still feel fine, I just notice my joints popping more, but I think that has more to do with my age (30) than the temp.
