I crave carbs especially in winter, when Seasonal Affective Disorder strikes me. The brain runs on glucose so some carbs are necessary but I've read that it is best to avoid white foods like white bread and rice, and to limit white potatoes. Sweet potatoes are okay in moderation but it's good to watch the glycemic index and glycemic load to control spikes in blood sugar.
I use to be a carbaholoic as I craved carbs and ate more than my share. But now I get most of my carbs from fruits and veggies. I do usually get 1 whole grain a day. I just don't crave them like I use to.

Not sure of your entire circumstances, however; they say that if a person isnt getting enough sleep or good sleep they will crave the carbs, also, if they do not have enough of them during the day....

I did at first, but not as much any more.

Be sure to eat some carbs, your brain runs on glucose, cutting all of them out, is not smart.
Yes, because carbs create cravings. And we don't "need" carbs, other than healthy veggie sorts. There is no such thing as an "essential carb".
If you can cut carbs to a major extent, after a short time you will stop having that craving - although, since most of us are raised on carbs, it's hard to do.
Is it "normal"? Well, I suppose it depends on your definition. Is it "normal" to crave sugar? Chocolate? Tobacco, if you're a smoker? I would say those things may be typical... but I wouldn't necessarily consider them "normal" (or healthy).
Depends on your dietary lifestyle, I suppose. Regardless of what plan you're on though, carbs spike your blood glucose, and that incites the whole hunger cascade... even if you're not hungry to start with.

If you get the bad carbs (flour, sugar, pasta, white rice) out of your diet and keep them out, the cravings will mostly go away.
Yes, it is normal...doesn't mean that you have to give in to it though.

Yes it is. I know for me when I eat carbs I crave them more, so I try not to eat those that will make me regret eating them.

Yes, I believe we can crave anything. Just eat the right ones and correct amount.

That is a good question! I have no idea.
What I do know for me is, that the more I eat carbs the more carbs I want! Proven fact!
starch carbs and sugar type carbs which are high on the glycemic chart tend to cause spikes and lows with blood sugar, making you crave them even more. And processed foods loaded with sugar, fat and salt will also increase cravings.

I think it's very normal. When I am craving carbs, I try to choose a more healthy carb and pair it with protein. That way the blood sugar won't spike. I like crackers with cheese, 1/2 English muffin with peanut butter, apple with pb, crackers with some hummus, or even just a slice of whole wheat bread with a slice of turkey/cheese or pb. You can tell I like my pb!!!

Of course. We need carbs for energy. Plus, when I haven't had them in a long time, the most simple carb, like a cracker, tastes SO DELICIOUS.

I crave carbs and don't know why. I can plan my meals to be healthy, but then I crave carbs. Does anyone has that problem?
