Watching inches makes me happier. I've been three different sizes at the same weight, so I know it's more about body composition for me than how much I weigh.

Inches... Make sure you are not bloated when you take the measurements. If you can use a skinfold calipers, far better (won't matter if you are bloated or not).
Scale can motivate, but more often than not, it frustrates, especially over the short term. So I dropped the scale totally. Now I go by inches lost and body fat % as determined by skinfold caliper measurements.
Both because you may be losing one and not the other and it's nice to see a change someone to maintain motivation. However, I know weight isn't always a good indicator of size because muscle may be more compact but it may make you look heavier on a scale than you truly are.
It is important to track both; for both show postive change and can be motivating that you are moving in the right direction.
From what you are sharing---right now you are losing body fat and gaining muscle mass. Therefore the scale is reporting the same number. Since muscle takes up less space in the body (than does fat), you are noticing smaller body measurements.

Is it better to lose inches or better to lose weight? Right now I'm having the worst time trying to drop the lbs. but it seems like I'm able to lose inches.
