I've lost weight (major pounds) twice in my life and didn't notice a big difference in where I lost the weight. I'm on my third journey now but haven't lost enough to be able to tell yet but good question!

I didn't really. When I was 21 (30 now) I lost around 30-35lbs to get to 150-155, and my overall shape now is about the same as it was back then. The biggest difference is around my middle area, but I know even my calves and upper arms are smaller, and it's definitely noticeable in my face. BUT, if I compare my body now to my body in high school, when I was about the same weight as now, I'm way curvier than I was then. Wider hips, bigger chest etc. Weird cause I stopped growing height wise when I was about 13.

I will say I haven't had children, and I think that does factor in.

not sure.......I weigh less than I have in years. I weigh around my high school weight. I do know that strength training is helping me have a nice shape. My abs look better and my glutes do too. Biceps are coming along.

In some areas it seems to be coming off the same, but in others...not so much.I am almost down to a weight where I was able to slip on a certain pair of pants years ago (I saved just to be able to fit into them again...will never wear as they have a hole),and they aren't even I know my weight loss this time around is coming from off differently. It's ok though,as long as I continue to lose,I don't care how it shows itself emoticon

I definitely see a difference in my shape, esp after 2 children 9 years apart. I use to have a duck butt, now when I lose weight my butt is flat, but I am sure there are exercises to target those areas too.

Sometimes I think I should have had a big string tied around my waist to I could return to the YO YO. I have gone the brute force technique, the liquid diet and WW all with good success. I have never had success like have had with SP. As to how I look, well, to put it bluntly, not really good. When one goes from 335 to 162, there is a lot of skin left over and there is no way to get rid of that short of major surgery.

The difference this time around is the incredible support systems, maintenance programs and most of all YOU! I am constantly amazed at the level of support comes from all of the threads on SP. I have gained a large number of virtual friends and feel a definite connection to each one.

I am 77 and I just kick myself for not doing this earlier.

This is my second MAJOR attempt at losing weight so time and progress will tell if I'll be a different shape. This time, I'm doing it w/o purging, though, and more strengthening exercises once I get my total gym and kettlebells. :)

and then regained a lot, and then lost it again, my question is for you.

After losing weight the 2nd (or 3rd, or 4th) time, did your body look the same as after losing it the first time? Or did the weight come off differently the other times?

I have always assumed that weight would always come off basically the same way every time but in talking to a friend who says her weight loss in her 30s left her with quite a different shape than her weight loss in her 20s, I'm curious if anyone else has experienced this.
