I would tell myself to get serious with her relationship with the Lord - I wouldn't have made so many mistakes if only I would have learned this lesson sooner!!!

In regards to weight? "Eating out all the time WILL eventually make you fat" I didn't have issues with it before 25, but that's what killed me in my late 20s... trying to act like I was still 19.

In regards to life? Probably "Finish your degree at the cheap in-state school where you went for 3 years, instead of deciding to up and transfer to an expensive out of state school... that you didn't end up finishing anyway".

In regards to love? Oh geeze, a few "If he really likes you HE WILL CALL YOU. No need to call him 17 times a day." and "Just because he doesn't make a lot of money, he's great in every single other way, keep him."

Although I quit smoking 10 years ago, I would go back and tell my younger self to never start smoking as it isn't worth it and it isn't a way to control your weight.

If only we could, but I, like many of you have said, would say "YOU ARE NOT FAT"! Then, I would tell my self to learn how to eat healthy and stay active.

Learn healthy eating habits, including moderation and self-control, early on and make activity part of my daily life so that I would be doing these things naturally and not having to force myself now.

wake up and smell the coffee.
change your lifestyle and focus on your health and wellbeing
it doesn't matter how slow it goes...just that you keep improving
if you don't start now, you will lose out on so many opportunities.

put your best foot forward for your job, but the job is so you can live well
don't plan your life around the job...balance work and play...emphasis on play
life is to be enjoyed...don't live like a zombie...make each day count

and when you look in the

there is NOT 'only one love' for everyone. It may take a while, but waiting for the REAL THING will be worth it.

and don't listen to your sister's dating advice...EVER!

Me to my young-self: "Dude, you're gonna laugh so hard 35 years from now when you find out at the reunion that you're way more successful than all those people who kicked your fat band geek butt......seriously, you're gonna pee your pants laughing do hard!"
"Keep partying hard because nothing happens to you except a better life!"
"...oh, and lastly, you should probably stop making fun of those guys with muscles, you're gonna have 'em, too, one day."

My past is similar, COLOMAGIRL. I gained a little weight and got breasts at puberty -- at a time when girls were supposed to be stick thin. I hated my body and things went down hill from there.

I would tell myself to be strong, to not give in to temptations, to not get fat ... and to not care so much about what other people thought or said.

I would tell myself that my dad was wrong. I am not butt ugly. Many people have said that I am a gorgeous woman.

You are going to be just fine. One day you will look back on all this and realize how unimportant all those silly people are.

I would tell myself not to be so hard on myself.

What would you tell her/him?

I remember the exact time in my life that my poor body image developed. I was in 8th grade and wore a size 9 and weighed 140 lbs which larger than all my friends. When I look back at old pictures, I realized that I looked just fine.. If I could go back, I would tell my younger self that she is just fine the way she is.
