If you want more protein at meals why not increase the portion of chicken, tuna, meat? You could also add some yogurt for example as a side
For snacks
Whole grain cereal with milk
Half a turkey sandwich
String cheese and pretzels or special k chips are good
Bagel thin with laughing cow or regular slice cheese
Hummus and crackers

I like roasted edamame. There are various flavors available. Not too many calories and lots of protein.
Greek yogurt is high in protein and you could probably use the plain flavor to replace sour cream or similar items in recipes.

I am going to switch out my snacks of carbs to more healthier options. Its not easy to make the switch!
I am going to make some quinoa salad, hard boiled eggs, and have avocados and nuts on hand. I love apples with peanut butter.
I too would like to hear more suggestions from people.

Vegetables and fruit are carbs...

Fat doesn't make you fat. Eating more calories than your body uses does. Healthy fats are essential in your diet.

You really should be trying to get enough fruit and veg in your diet. Could you not pair them with something else?

Protein sources

Cottage cheese (other cheeses)
Greek yogurt

Ricotta cheese and fruit on whole grain toast
Cottage cheese or Greek yogurt with fruit and nuts
A veggie omelette
Beans on whole grain toast
A bean salad
Homemade "healthier" muffins
Nut butter with apples or whole grain toast
Greek frozen yogurt

I have trouble finding good snacks. I don't care to eat fresh vegetables or fruits. I usually like carbs of some kind. Does anyone have any ideas for low cal, low fat snacks? Also, ideas for getting more protein into meal without getting more cholesterol and calories and fat?
