Congrats on taking the first step into changing your life to a more healthier one by joining the site. Spark is filled with amazing people that will motivate, support and encourage you on your journey. There is so much to learn and discover here, take this one day at a time. A couple of things I would like to suggestion to make you Spark experience a great one.

1. Make goals for yourself. Each month I make a list of what I want to accomplish that month and break them down to smaller goals to work with week by week. This way the BIG picture doesn't seem so big.

2. Join Spark teams. There are tons of teams here and you will be able to find ones that fit to what you like or want in a team.

The key to success here is to be active and you've already started by joining. You will find that everyone is willing to help you out if you need it. Spark friends are here for support, motivation and encouragement. Good luck on your journey to a healthier lifestyle! Again, welcome to the SP family!

Welcome to SparkPeople!! This is a wonderful site with so many resources like articles, trackers, and community SparkTeams to help give you support and keep you motivated. See how many SparkPoints you can get each day and this will help you find and use many of the tools of the site. Make sure you make a SparkPage as this is how you can have people post to you to help inspire you! Please remember this is a marathon, not a sprint. It is not a diet, but a lifestyle change. I am down 70 lbs with SparkPeople and I feel so much lighter and stronger and healthier every day! You can do it! Best of luck on your journey to a healthier lifestyle!

Congratulations on the weightless! What a hard thing.. You lost an enormous amount a weight.. That is amazing! The hardest part, I feel is the keeping it off part. As I have lost weight, countess amount of times, only to revert back to prior behaviors, and gain it all back, and then some. Sometimes the hardest part is opening your eyes, with realizing that only you can be accountable for you. What your husband has done, is wrong.. but it sounds like he was scared. Losing ones mate, spouse, or partner is a scary feeling.. and Im sure he was clinging on to what he knows, as a self preservation tool. The best thing I would recomend.. (Although I am no therapist, and am working at this myself) is set a goal, a little one each day.. and do your best to stick to it. Each day raise the stakes, and eventially that will motivate you. Another thing I have found helpful is having a BUDDY to help you through this journey!
Good Luck!

I got focused and lost 185 pounds then I found out that my husband was getting jealous of me going walking with friends and family. I think he got worried I would leave or something. He said he got scared. He told me I was eating like a bird and he kept telling me it was unhealthy when I was getting great. I think he missed us eating fast food together and going out and getting what ever we wanted to eat. So i slowly have just started going back to normal a nd now I have gained alot of weight back. I'm so depressed. Im getting to wear I can't breathe when I walk. Everyone trys to motivate me even my husband now after he realized what he did told me how sorry he was and he is trying to motivate me to start losing again and nothing is helping. I was soooo happy when i lost the 185 pounds even though I still had a very long way to go to get to a good weight i was happy. I was doing more and going more places and i would smile more. How do i get my motivation back? I need help. alot of help. emoticon
