I have definitely seen people of all shapes, sizes, and ages running! If it's something you want to continue to pursue, do like you did today and do spurts of jogging until you have to walk again, recover, jog, walk, jog, walk, etc. and eventually you'll build up an endurance where you're walking less and less and eventually you won't have to at all. I know it's hard to fathom, but it will happen and it will happen quicker than you think!

Just be careful not to do too much too soon (TMTS). If you happen to get unusual pain in your shins, feet, hips, etc, that is a sign to ease up on the running or it may turn into a serious injury. Fortunately there are plenty of other ways to burn calories, including strength training.

Good for you! It is something to be proud of! I do an interval walk/run but I laughingly tell people it's more like a shuffle than a run. Just be careful, go slow but keep going. Don't forget to stretch after you finish when you're warmed up.

Ok, big deal for me. I'm about 280 right now, and I've been walking a bit lately. A lady passed me today, about my size, and she was running. And I thought, why not try it? I've been walking alot lately and I feel pretty good. So when no one was around, I tried it, and I did it!!!!! Mind you it wasn't alot, and it certainly wasn't pretty, stuff was bouncing and jiggling everywhere!! But I did it for a few sprints on my walk, again, when no one was around. I'm sooooo proud of myself!

I had to share with someone, I'm afraid that if I tell those around me, they'll just smile and nod and be embarrassed for me. I don't care anymore, but I don't want the negativity either. I'm not ready to do it in front of people, but its a start :)
