Trite, but true. I can only imagine saying that to myself in 4 months during Christmas. But look at the positive, you can use this experience to plan for do's and dont's during the celebration next year.

Hi Vigdis Ramadan must be the hardest time to eat in a disciplined way - and Eid must be even harder. But Eid is over now. I'm sure that not all of that extra weight is body fat - in fact some of it has probably come off already. You've got a big motivation for losing weight with the possible IVF treatment so don't worry about what has happened, just look to the next goal and go for it!

Scale weight can also be deceiving, a lot of time if you go through a period of overeating a lot of the weight gain is fluid and is not just made up of fat, it is a temporary gain. So getting back on track should see a good portion of the gain disappear quickly.
We all have blips and set backs and still do even once we reach our weight loss goal; vacations, holidays, special occasions, our moods, etc. What matters is that you get back on track afterwards and learn from your experiences on how to manage your eating habits in the future. You can't learn how to ride a bike without a few tumbles. Pick yourself up, dust yourself off and get right back on track.

I don't know what culture you are from, but I find that the social pressure that I get to eat around my Arab friends is enormous--and that is from very close friends who know how hard I have worked to lose weight and all of the difficult struggles that I have had with my health. Ramadan makes things about 1000 times worse.
All you can do is start fresh and move forward in a positive way from here.

I give all new members one piece of advice and it's this,"Don't look at good health or weight loss with an all or nothing attitude". if the only healthy thing you did for yourself today was drink 8 glasses of water, that's still a step in the right direction.
You can't change the past, but you CAN influence and change the future !!!
Don't try to do everything at once. Set some simple goals first. Take baby steps literally and figuratively. Don't let the scale upset you. Remember, there is more to good health than a number that stares at us from between our toes in the morning.
So, don't beat yourself up because you've gained some weight. Instead, concentrate on making some healthier choices (not perfect one) each week. Make small changes because there is no fast way to lose weight. wish there were, but there isn't.
Patience, it's a virtue.

VIGDIS, Today is a new day! Try not to beat yourself up for things that you have done in the past. Is that how you would treat a good friend of yours? What would you say to them?
My greatest advice is to think about all the things that you want to change when you are faced with temptation. Each small decision to take the stairs or opt for a healthy snack instead of junk adds up!! You can definitely do this!! Hugs!

I was so determent to cep a healthy diet and exercise when Rammadan was last month.But I FAILD BIG TIME!!!! It went well for the 2 first week,then I not manage to cep up with it do to fathig .I didi not think more a but it,but 2 days a go I stood on the scale it was 10kg more then I ecspekted .I started to cray,and no I have lost the motivation and disayer to start a gain.I'm so low in mod that I feel like that I will never manage to loos any weight....I'm just so angry at my self to put on the weight......
