Welcome and you're off to a GREAT start!!!!

Echoing Vlinder2013 here, definitely have patience.

Don't be overwhelmed by that long term goal. It seems daunting. But, you've discovered the beauty of it. If you follow a plan, you'll see effects each week. Celebrate those. Jump for joy over them and know they're adding to your longterm goal. Just don't fixate on that longterm goal.

Until, of course, 2-3lbs/week slows down. It will. But, don't let that bum you out. Celebrate it!!!!!!!! When I started at ~300, I was losing 3 lbs. a week. That certainly slowed. I knew it would. But, it was time to celebrate. I was out of the "danger zone", you know? And your ticker will have all sorts of air to the left and you'll see that now...that end's just down the road a piece. Totally in sight.

You have this thing in the bag! Keep at it. I cannot express how much you will appreciate what you've done. Even better because you did it the right way. You did it with sweat and good eating.

First I am sorry for your loss.. That in no way could have been easy. Second.. Congrats on your upcoming marriage.. I am happy you found someone wonderful for you...

emoticon Ten pounds is awesome.Patient is a good thing. This site has so much information, support, challenges, Teams.. I hope you have been exploring your first week and finding what you need.

My suggestions.. as you know Patients is good.. and needed. While our first weeks the weight falls off . .then comes the work.. with every program I have tried it has worked this way.Making long term and short term goals.. writing them are you going to achieve them, how long do you have.. being specific helps.. leaving them where you can seem so they keep you focused.

Journaling every day.. I'm a food addict.. I eat every emotion I have and I am learning to not do that.. but I need feed back and journaling helps me with that.

I know you have to find your way. .and you will.. One Step , One day at a time.. You're WORTH IT !!

I am 41, have two wonderful teenagers alive and one in Heaven, I also plan on getting married soon(to the most wonderful man in the world, who knew they still existed). When my daughter got sick 5 years ago I was at my heaviest weight of 296lbs, after she died I lost 50lbs and didn't even try. Needless to say I have put half of that weight back on and I started Sparks last week and lost 10lbs, I tend to get impatient and I hope to do better on the Sparks plan and I will be patient with at least 2lbs per week. I think what has helped me most of all is all the water I've been drinking, it makes me fees better (who Any advice is always welcomed.
