Ever notice your weight goes up during TOM ? Most women tend to gain weight during their menstrual cycle. Is that a fat gain ? Nope, it's nothing more than a temporary water weight gain that passes in a few days.

Also, not to get TMI, but did you weigh yourself after a bowel movement ? Food has weight. Water has weight. So, if you don't do a poop in the morning, the physical weight of all the food and water you ate/drank the day before is still in your intestines. I can easily gain or lose 3-4 pounds in a day because of a shift in my water weight.

So, don't beat yourself up because you gained 1.5 pounds this week. that really is perfectly normal and probably nothing more than a water weight fluctuation.

Mostly, I give all members one piece of advice and it's this,"Don't look at good health or weight loss with an all or nothing mentality". If the only healthy thing you did for yourself today was drink 8 glasses of water, that's still in a step in the right direction. Every little bit really does make a difference.

Remember, one small change CAN change your life ! Slow and steady really does win this race.

don't give up you can do this just think of this as a minor setback and keep going we have all been there i have been battling being obese my whole life it seems

...that I could just cry.

I have PCOS/Insulin resistance (the latter part not official diagnosed, irritating pill pusher of a doctor just said 'If you have PCOS, I'm just going to treat you like you have insulin resistance too) and it took me two years to lose about 40 pounds, struggling all the way and I still had/have another 40 to go to get to where I'd like to be, 20 if I just wanted to make my doctor happy.

I got off track about three months ago and that's all it's taken for the scale to creep back up 10 pounds - that's another 6 months of work for me. I was back on track this week and still gained 1.5 pounds.

For someone who does not lose weight normally, even with exercising, calorie and carb counting this is rage-making and I just want to throw things. I will get over it and be fine later obviously but I'm not just this second!
