I've been using the +/- 3 lbs. range for years now - it works! emoticon

Good for you! Just remember your weight is not a static or constant number, but is meant to fluctuate according to the stress you place on it which has nothing to do with 'fat' gain. For this reason, many health experts recommend having a goal weight range of say +/- 3 pounds to deal with these daily, weekly and monthly fluctuations.

Take care!

SP really knows what they are doing. I bet if you stick to the low end of your maintenance range, and continue your workouts, you will have no trouble maintaining, and you will possibly even drop a little more pounds or inches!

I met my goal weight last year and although I increased my calorie intake after doing that, I lost another 10 pounds (approx.). I'm now maintaining at that weight. Gaining the weight back is a huge fear of mine too so I understand that. So far, so good though and I'm doing well for the first time in my life (at maintaining).

In 10 weeks with SparkPeople I've lost 15 pounds. I've hit my goal and at 5'6'' I have a healthy BMI of 23.1 and (I think) healthy measurements of 36-28-40.

But now I can't decide if I should set a lower goal weight. I feel good at this size, but I'm worried that by switching into maintenance mode and having my calorie range jump up to 1810-2160, I'll gain weight.

What did/are you planning to do when you hit your goal weight? Set a new goal or use maintenance calorie range to maintain? Or something else?
