What you're experiencing really is perfectly normal. You're a female. Women tend to get bloated very frequently. Ever notice your weight goes up during TOM ? Most women tend to gain weight and bloat during their menstrual cycle. When your hormones are out of balance, that will cause your body to retain water. How to keep your hormones in balance so that you don't get bloated ? That's the million dollar question every single woman would like solved.

There really are lots of legitimate reasons a person could retain water and get bloated. You're just going to have to accept that these things DO happen to your body and that they are perfectly normal.

Don't beat yourself up. This is normal behavior for your body.

Your body absolutely may retain fluids while healing. Also, if it's been hot where you are, that is another reason bodies retain fluids. Keep drinking lots of water and trust the process. Your body will release the excess fluids when it's ready. I hope you feel better soon.

Don't beat yourself up. Everything gets out of whack when you get sick. That was yesterday. Make a new start today and I'll guarantee you will drop that weight again.
I doubt you were exercising, and that is as should be. I am betting on you. I've been on SP for quite awhile and have seen it all. I too haven a tendency to try to make myself feel better with food. Liquids are good if you are running a fever. So chin up emoticon !! I hope you start to feel better soon.

I've had a cold for the past few days. I haven't been eating too much because I just feel so crappy. However, I have been drinking lots of water and tea. Today, out of nowhere, I am super bloated like I can see it in my stomach. I feel like nothing fits me and the scale even showed a weight gain. I was my normal weight like three days ago and really haven't done anything different except eat less. I don't understand and am super frustrated. I've never really heard of water retention while being sick but I don't know how else to explain this. My period ended a few days ago, which is really the only time I seem to bloat like this. Has anybody gained water weight while they were sick?
