I haven't gotten that one, but I will sometimes get one from the UK or Nigeria. I also get one that looks like it's from my email provider, but they can't write in proper English!

You know what's sad? I'm pretty sure $2 million wouldn't even buy you much of a tropical island! And what with the taxes and all... Scammers are gonna have to up their game. I don't think I'd go through the hassle they're going to propose even if I *did* believe there was $2 million out there. I could earn more by working for that number of hours!

Usually..if something sounds too good to be true..IT IS !! Have fun with the dream while it last. When you come back to reality..Life is really wonderful on its own merits..If you believe in treating your fellow man kindly and doing unto others as you would have done unto yourself..Well..its all good. The Lord will bless you.

Incredible that there could be two of us who have won this miraculous prize in one place on SparkPeople!

I'm always surprised to what extent criminals will go to in order to steal money from others, but then again, I'm always surprised that they are people out there ignorant enough to go for these scams.

Wrong, money is not the root of all evil, that's out of context.

Let me tell you the TRUTH...there was indeed an elderly couple in the Truro, NS area who won millions on the 6-49 lottery a while back and the wife did pass away from cancer afterward. They made loads of donations to area churches and hospitals and the gentleman was in the paper here the other day commenting on a story of how some sorry pieces of SH!T are scamming people using their story and his fine name.

I like to respond to all junk e-mails the same way...I always thank them for the offer and tell them that I am now happily forwarding their e-mail to the FBI, CIA, KGB, etc....I also do the same with scam phone calls.

I hope this email didn't come from Nigeria. A person does have to be careful with emails of these sorts. If the person asks you to send a check to lease those funds, then you know something is fishy. pardon. phishy.

Now, if you know the person who sent this email and their identy confirmed, THEN I'd love to visit your island. Unfotunately, none of my relatives have ever won Powerball. So, I won't be buying an island any time soon.

got this email this morning at work:
I am donating $2,000,000.00 USD to you from the lottery funds i and my late wife won in the 6-49 lottery, contact me for more details

so, if this pans out (as I'm SURE it will), you'll know why I disappeared.

you're all invited to my own personal tropical island that I plan to buy with this windfall!
