I had lost 70 pounds before my hysterectomy and even though I was walking the next day and got back into my exercises as soon as i could...I gained weight. Back up 50 pounds. I was doing the same thing as before but gaining! The doctor just told me that my body would adjust to the hormone changes, balance out and I would lose it again. It's been two years and I was so discouraged, I gave up for awhile...but I felt better when I was exercising regularly and am back at exercising and I do feel better...and the weight is slowly coming off. It's discouraging but hormones do play a part. I couldn't take any hormones so that might make a difference.

I am still working on that myself and I had a full several years ago. Now I am starting to work with weights to help, because just cardio is not cutting it.

They had me walking the same day. Within the week doing miles of walking. Of course it was very painful as they did not give me pain control. They said if I didn't they would put me back in the hospital.
After I had my hysterectomy, I waited six weeks to exercise and then I did Yoga. I had a vaginal hysterectomy with repair, so I didn't have an abdominal incision to worry about.

provided that you have been cleared for exercise i would think that it would be a lot like post c-section stuff. i did pilates after my c-section. pilates is awesome for core/ab...they also have some really helpful pelvic floor exercise programs

How long has it been since your surgery? Have you been given clearance by your doctor to start exercising again?
