It's not such a big deal really... because you're not actually lifting her, you're just... kinda... holding her? I mean.... I don't know how to say it :S but I hope you know what I mean...

Even I can do it! and I have no strength at all, trust me. It's the only thing I learned from military service lol

I think you should just practice with a friend first.

Thanks both of you By the way would you guys have any tips on how to gradually start picking up strength training starting as someone who has never really been to the gym seriously =p.

Ya, definitely go heavier than her. Since women aren't nice and balanced like a loaded barbell. lol.

This looks like a job for squats and deadlifts.

Yeah, some strength training would be wise. If you do sweep the girl off her feet, it would be a mood killer to drop I would say practice lifting more than you think she weighs, if you estimate her at 120 then I would get comfortable with lifting 150 before trying anything. Good Luck

These threads have been particularly interesting, seeing the community at work and the level of casual comfort has inspired me to make a post here. As the title says, I've been wondering how to pull of the romantic carrying that occurs in movies and if there's a certain level of strength one has to be at in order to pull this off.
