Well ... yes.

How else would you know how much that food was worth if you didn't specify what that food actually was? Sorry, I'm not trying to be sarcastic, but really, I can't fathom how it would be possible to even estimate the calories, carbs, fat and protein in a meal without specifying it was so many grams of this and half a can of that and so on.

The good news is, you don't have to do it every time! Set it up as a Recipe and you can just add that recipe whenever you make that meal.

But yes, creating the recipe you need to be specific about how much of each thing you used. Weights are always preferred over "1/6 a red pepper" sort of estimations. How big is "a red pepper" anyway to know how much 1/6th of one is? I've seen tiny and huge ones. :)

So set your recipe up with the full amount used for the entire recipe, not just one serving, and you can specify how many servings that makes.

BTW, if it's 1/6 a red pepper, 1/3 a chicken breast and 1/6 a can of beans ... that's not enough food for a single serving for one person. Double it, at least, for a healthy meal.

You could add it to your recipe box. Then, the next time you made it, you could just enter the serving amount you ate. I have also entered things in the grouping catagory. For example, if I am having eggs, it is usually one egg, 1/4 cup diced ham, slice of bread, tablespoon of feta. So, when I have eggs, I enter the grouping, which will add the individual foods into the tracker. I can change the amount or item once it is in the tracker if I need to.

I hope that made sense.

Tracking is a great tool. It really helped me to be aware of what I was eating.

Is there any way to enter a recipe into the food tracker without having to tediously figure out each small component?
for example, I made a dish with white kidney beans, chicken, red peppers, onion, spinach, and salsa. It was enough to serve 6 people.
I cook like this A LOT! I find it way too tedious to enter all of that into the food tracker, especially when I'm not certain of the amounts. do I have to enter 1/6 of a red pepper, 1/3 of a chicken breast, 1/6 of a can of beans? and so on....
and if I do that, how am I sure that it's accurate? Help. I cook like this a lot and it's just frustrating.
