That's very true, I just have to ask myself how badly I want to be a healthy weight and eating a few cookies is ok as long as I count them.

Portion control will help, but join challenges that'll keep you on track.

I've joined Challenges for the month of December. Not on sparkpeople, but with my friends.

1. Only go to a party/out to dinner/or have a cheat day one day a week. Doesn't sound like much but there are holiday parties all the time lol.

2. I'm doing Walking Lunges Challenge. Day 1 do 5 walking lunges/leg and every day after that add 5 more. Today I'm on 50 walking lunges per leg.

3. I'm doing a challenge that requires exercise 5 days/week for a minimum of 30 minutes.

Challenges hold me accountable and I've found it still helps me lose weight during the holidays.

my biggest motivator is my BIG WHY. It supercedes any holiday, special occassion and season. If your big why (reason you are on this journey) is important enough, a few measley cookies and parties should never stand in your way. I think people make too big a deal about the holidays.

I'm seeing posts about maintaining weight during the holidays but how cool would it be to enjoy the holidays even more because you lost weight? Any ideas to motivate me would be greatly appreciated.
