I think how fast you do the push ups is important. Slow down and you can't do as much.

I can do 30 in 1 minute. About 15 months ago when I started losing the fat, I was able to do only 8 in 1 minute.

50 good ones and then the next 10-20 begin getting weaker depending on the day I'm doing them.

It depends on the season. In early May, I could do three sets of twenty push-ups flat out. By the end of May I had a lung infection which has not fully healed. Today I did push-ups for the first time in five months, since I became ill. I could do about 3 flat out, and 17 more on my knees. I have a long ways to go until I get back to where I was last spring!

I am 55 years old, so it is never too late to do them!

If you Google "100 Pushups" you will find an excellent progressive build up programme to use.

Probably like 10 max. I don't work out my arm muscles much.

I have become obsessed with "real" pushups. My goal is to be able to do 20 in a row with good form by the end of the year. I currently can squeek out 16, but the last couple are sort of on the pitiful side, not the best form and not real low. I've got a long ways to go but I am determined!
