I agree with Archii as well. Muffin top is from pants that do not fit properly. You could try on some other brands and cuts of pants. Could be a slightly higher waistband would do the trick. Or a different brand. Waist/ hip measurements and the ratio between them can vary widely between brands.

I'm with Archimedes on this one, the proper cut of pants makes *all* the difference. I'm still at a point where the waistband will be too big and the thighs too small (woohoo pear shape) so knowing where to get them tailored is a help too. Properly fitted pants will give you a long, lean line through the leg no matter what your shape.

I can tell you how to get rid of that muffin top immediately.

Wear properly fitted pants. If you were to wear pants that were tailored to your figure, you would not have a muffin top. Muffin tops are created by wearing pants that are too tight or the wrong cut for that person's body.

So, if you want to get rid of your muffin top, you need to buy pants that fit right. You're either wearing the wrong size or wearing a cut that doesn't flatter your figure.

Now, let's say you really want to fit into those pants, then you need to eat right. When it comes to gaining or losing weight, what matters most is what we eat. So, if you want to lose some weight, you need to be eat right, watch your portions and get a little regular exercise that includes some strength training.

You can't target the area. Losing weight is an ALL body process that requires a person to eat right first.

This works:

Have had 7 babies and I know what muffin top is. I cut back on calories, eat healthier…and very importantly - get that exercise [read the article].

For me…this greatly reduced the abdominal area. I feel so much better "fitness-wise." emoticon

I refuse to wear any shape wear and want to take care of the muffin top of I have. It's not terrible but very frustrating to have. What to do? How do you take care of it?
