I've seen the packages of bands in the store, but didn't know what they were for. Don't have room for one more project in my life, but I loved doing things like this as a kid. Remember the potholder looms with the stretchy colored panty-hose material loops? I still use the ones my daughters made.

A family member gave my daughter all different colored bands for Christmas. She's on a jewelry-making mission now! I got two bracelets and two rings tonight alone. It's a fun and simple little hobby!

Lol...I never heard of these either! I ended up finding a bunch of how to videos on youtube, if that helps you find designs.

I love making jewelry and I am always on the lookout for something new and different. I have seen the looms at Michaels but I haven't purchased one for myself yet. Maybe a project for the new year

I am thinking of getting one for myself. I participate in the Operation Christmas Child program, and I enjoy making a few handmade gifts for the shoe boxes. I thought that those bracelets would be fun to make for those.
It would also be an enjoyable craft to work on while watching TV or movies in the evenings; I like to keep my hands busy so that I am not so tempted to snack.
I have also heard the original Rainbow Loom is the best, the "knockoff" looms can break easily. If I do order one, I will go directly to the company website to order my loom so that I can be sure I am getting the original.

I know my little niece is hooked on making the jewelry too.

Just an FYI....I've heard that the non-branded versions of the looms and their rubber bands could have lead in them. I've been told that the Rainbow Loom is fine, and in fact gave several of them as gifts for Christmas. I don't know for sure that there is lead, only that it's possible. There seems to be a wide age range of girls loving this trend right now. It is fun to make the jewelry. I don't remember the sites I've used with my cousin, but there's a lot so it's pretty easy to find instructions.

The Rainbow Loom is what every little girl I know wanted for Christmas so I ended up buying about 6 of them....I don't make the jewellery but I have received quite a bit from the little ones.

My 8 yo granddaughter got me hooked on the rubber band jewelry that the kids are making. Have you tried it? What do you think?
