I have tried Hip Hop Abs a couple times recently and I really enjoyed it! I plan on doing it more often.

I did it! "Touch the Floor" move is HARD as hell, but I totally surprised myself yesterday and did it without stopping. Of course, I thought my heart was going to explode, but it didn't or I wouldn't be able to do it again (kidding). I had a dr.'s appt. today and he said I looked phenomenal. What a compliment coming from my doctor, who is to say the least, very stoic. He said my weight was the same, but I looked "toned". Gotta love the workout and diet plan.
I went back to 6 week body makeover eating plan where all salt, dairy, and alcohol are eliminated. I've been creating some delicious meals and surprise myself again, that I can eat without added salt and the only dairy I did was butter, half & half, and heavy cream for baking. That's all on hold until I reach my goal weight and then in super-moderation.
This weekend, I'm purchasing some 2 lb. weight gloves because in the strength training portion of the dvd, I don't use anything and the weights I have are 4 pounders; too much weight for that type of movement.
Even though HHA Extreme is intense, I'm proud of myself that I do it 3x a week and will add another day on next week. I'm getting stronger and leaner.

I've been doing Hip Hop Abs Extreme going on 4 weeks 3x a week, and my stamina has improved so much. Yes, I drag my feet when it's workout day, but once I start, I surprise myself and concentrate on what Shaun T is doing and saying and it's over before I know it. Well, okay, I do glance at the clock from time to time, but I stick with it.
Let's see what happens in 2 months. My commitment to this workout is 90 days and then I move back to Zumba Exhilarated workout for 90 days, then another, etc.

I like (and can do) some of the routines, but not others. Some were very simple and I believe just about anyone can do them. Other routines were more complicated and not for everyone. But I am OK with the "mixed" nature of the program. If I buy a "set" of routines, I don't expect to like 100% of them. I expect that there will be some that are better-suited for me than others.
I am 58 years old and no dancer, by a long shot. But I do have a sense of musicality and rythm.

I like all of Shaun T's workouts. I am extremely uncoordinated, and I have no trouble following Hip Hop ABS. That being said, there is a big variety to the videos. The original version is a little easier starting out, while the newer "Volume 2" stuff is a bit faster/a bit more practice to get the moves down (though really only a time or two), and the routines are slightly longer. They are all excellent workouts as long as you are doing what he tells you to do and keeping your abs contracted while you're doing the moves. It takes a little getting used to the "tilt-tuck-tighten" movements, but you can definitely get tighter abs in a pretty short period of time. And they go fast. I think the longest one is only around 45 minutes, but then he also has a Hip Hop ABS Extreme Cardio that is about an hour and is a serious kick-butt workout, just a notch or two down from Insanity! I really like this series. Hope this helps!!!! Good luck :)
