I just found out about SPARKPEOPLE a week ago. I am loving this site. There is so much information. You might want to check out the radio show they have that you can listen to on this site. I just found it yesterday and listened to 2 episodes. Very inspiring and encouraging. What I have found most helpful for me is doing a honest food log and using the food tracker on this site. I was often eating pistachios and walnuts as a snack. I found out how many calories I was really eating of those and have cut my portion in half. I have found adding lots more vegetables to my diet has helped. The recipes on this site are awesome. I tried a slow cooker mostly vegetable and chicken stew this week. It was a great success even with the hubby. I often will make a sweet potato mash or cauliflower mash which is very filling and low in calories. My husband doesn't like those so I have them on the days when he is not home for lunch. The exercise tracker on this site is also great! Don't go crazy drastic on lowering your calories. I learned on Dr. Oz a good way to figure out how many calories you can eat and still lose weight slowly is to take your current weight and multiply it by 12 and that is your maximum calorie count for the day. I am not sure how you and I can communicate back and forth as I am just getting into the message board. Hang in there, be strong and know that TOMORROW IS NEVER PROMISED SO MAKE TODAY COUNT!
