How long have you been tracking your food? What is your SparkPeople recommended calorie range? Do you change your exercise routine regularly? Are you doing any strength training?

I agree with the previous posters that when it comes to weight loss, the majority of your progress is going to come from diet, not exercise.

I just read an article on ellipticals. It stated that you need to use the arm attachments. Also, you should use your heart rate to determine true level of effort, not just the resistance of calories on the machine.

I have started doing that it my work out are harder. You can do any exercise, but in your not doing it correctly, you will not get the correct results.

I agree with everyone else, double check your portion sizes and calorie counts.

Elliptical training is NOT harder than using a treadmill, especially if you are jogging or running. I have noticed at gyms that the people who have the most pathetic endurance, the ones who can't keep up with classes--these are the people who spend HOURS every week on the elliptical.

I weigh 175 pounds and I want to lose 35 pounds. I really build up a good sweat and I worked up to 7 on my resistance on the elliptical, I am aiming to do up to 10 for resistance

If you've been eating 1400 calories a day, and you're not losing, then something isn't adding up right.

Some possibilities:

1) You're underestimating how much you're actually eating. (Are you weighing and measuring?)
2) You're overestimating how much you're burning.

How much do you weigh, and how much do you want to lose?

Don't look for an elliptical training program, look for a diet plan.

As already stated, weight is FAR (far, far) more about what you eat than which type of cardio exercise you do, or how much.

If you're getting an hour a day of cardio on your elliptical that's fine and great. Nothing further needed in that department. If you're not seeing the results you want, then look to your diet, not your exercise. Your exercise is fine.

1400 may not be enough for you.

I eat about 1400 cals aday. and I don't eat chips, or sweet sugary foods, I do watch what I eat and I have been working on a healthier lifestyle since 2 years ago now

How long have you been working on your healthy lifestyle?

The key to weight loss is in the kitchen. Accurately tracking your intake is the most important thing you can do; you can't out-exercise a bad diet. You say you've reduced your calories, but what does that mean, to you? Just eating less? Making better choices?

These are good things, but may not be enough to trigger weight loss. Are you tracking, measuring and weighing everything you eat and drink? How long exactly are you working out? It sounds to me like you may be working out TOO much!

I have a elliptical and a treadmill, but I feel I have started challenging myself by using the elliptical and quit using my treadmill, why is it after continuous working out id say 4-5 days a week of a hours elliptical training why haven't I noticed my weight decreasing or my clothes fitting better, I also reduced my calories what have I done wrong...I feel discouraged
