Welcome Magichef!

I'm a big believer in the Fast Break goals. Achieving goals you set out to conquer really does work. And with the Fast Break goals, you can achieve them and succeed weekly!

And, you already have some tools that a lot of us don't. You know how to make things taste good! That's something I'm learning.

My best example, although in this case...I'm preaching to the choir.
My brown bag lunches used to consist of:
generic bread, ham, slice of cheese, mayo sandwich x2
some chips
cookie or something

Not terribly bad, but also some unneccesary calories and not a lot of bang for the buck.

Now, it's just one sandwich:
whole grain/tastier bread (or Helthy Life thin, which makes a better bread-to-stuff ratio)-upgrade in flavor, downgrade in calories
Then it's a little less ham/turkey and then I pile on fresh peppers (bell, poblano, jalapeno, anything I can find), onions, pickles or other veggie 'relish'/spread, tomato, crunchy jicama, mustard instead of mayo, skip the cheese often, and then.....oregano or better yet...Penzey's Sandwich Sprinkle.

The net result is a massive sandwich, loaded with veg. It's more food quantity and more satisfying, yet fewer calories.

I found I ate a lot of things because I needed to eat and I didn't really think about what I was consuming. I just needed to satisfy hunger. And by spending a few extra seconds, I could eat more quantity and more flavor.

Again, you know that! You know how to make things even delicouser! Deploy it. Mix in some excercise and you're gonna crush it!

I have been truing to lose weight for months thought I would give this a try, I have maintained weight just not losing any. With all the tools here it might help. Having a thyroid and heart condition doesn't make it easy it seems I have to juggle everything to maximize the benefits of eating and working out and taking meds. It gets over whelming. It is good that I am a chef because I know what I should be eating and what i shouldn't and understand chemistry of food. I love to try new recipes with healthy choices in mind. Anyway I am glad I started Spark people
