Congrats to you for recognizing what your body needed and going after it! That is very inspirational!

There's lots of research out there that shows that night shifts, like the one you were working, can have adverse effects on your health. As I remember, weight gain was one of those effects. It's hard for our bodies, which were evolved to be awake during the day, to adjust to a night schedule.
That being said, I have a niece who has worked for a police department for nearly ten years, and she LOVES the night shift. It's one of the reasons she took the job.

Yay for you!!! Sometimes it definitely takes making some bigger life changes (like switching jobs) to make you happier and healthier overall! Congrats on getting a workout in, and you can definitely do this!!!

It is time I do something for me. I just took a new job so I don't have to go to work at 3am. I was always too tired to work out. I needed a change and more time for me and my health. I finally got a workout in for the first time in months and I'm feeling better...a little sore but better. My promise to myself is to make time for me before anything else.
