There are salt and vinegar almonds (not sure if it's Emerald or Blue Diamond). They may be just enough to quell the craving, but much more filling. I almost bought them before but decided to put it off a week. I looked this week and they were sold out! Oh well I'll keep looking.

Try microwaving the potatoes if you're making your own. You can look it up, but there are recipes online for microwaved potato chips that are REALLY good.

Trader Joes (and I'm sure other places) carry lentil chips. They still are chips, but they have protein and fiber. They have different flavors, and you could sprinkle vinegar on top if you can't find ones you like. My favorite right now are Crunchy Curls from Trader Joes--one serving is really large, so I only have 1/3 of a serving at a time. And a serving has 3g of protein and 4g of fiber (no sugar, 130 calories.)

I get that salty/vinegar craving too--usually just when I get home from work, before I start dinner. I found a good substitute for me is marinated vegetables. I keep a jar of Italian Giardinera Salad (carrot, cauliflower, celery and pepper vinaigrette) or Italian hot peppers in the refrigerator to pick on while preparing dinner. Cento, B&G or Victoria are some brands that have an array of different marinated vegetables. Just make sure the oil content is low or non-existent. Peppadews are also a tasty sweet-vinegary snack. Sometimes I'll take the time to prepare a small antipasto platter of Giardinera, olives, low fat mozzarella and fresh tomato slices, if they are in season. Taking the extra time to put together a presentation (even if just for myself) means less time mindlessly scarfing down food while waiting for dinner.

I love them too! Here's my recipe for salt and vinegar potatoes which isn't quite the same..but definitely fills the craving, with less calories and fat. Cut a 4 few red potatoes into quarters. Boil in water until tender and drain. Return the potatoes to the pot and add about a 1/4 cup white wine vinegar. Season with kosher salt. You can eat these warm or cold..I prefer them cold actually.

roast thin cut potatoes in the oven with either pam or a 1/2 teaspoon of your healthy oils.
then do them up like your chips! they won't have the crunch, but they will be more crispy that just baked taters.

My mom buys the small bags of baked salt and vinegar chips and whole foods one at a time so she cant over indulge
I am addicted to salt and vinegar chips! i love vinegar and need to find someway to satisfy my craving without eating salt and vinegar chips, because once I start eating them I literally can't stop until I get a stomach ache :( like right now! boo
