Wow, wish I had that problem. I have a hard time staying in my range of 1200-1500 and I have also reached a plateau so looks as if I need to eat even less? How do you do it? I get hungry easy. I have been trying to eat healthy, no processed foods, only fresh and whole grains, fish, chicken mostly. What else can I do? I try to walk on treadmill 4 -5 days a week for 30-45 min which is all the time I can find. Weight just not coming off. Lost 10 lbs since January but last three weeks have weighed the same-no loss. :-(

I think that's a great attitude; this isn't a sprint; though I totally feel your pain on wishing it was. I'm ready to be thin NOW! All this time and hard work is frustrating, sometimes.

But when we take it slow, we cope better, we keep it under control, and we are healthier in the long run.

I had a period of finding it nearly impossible to eat my minimums... right after I started, I just could NOT do it! It was a period of major adjustment for me. I moved past it after a few weeks, though, and now my tracker reports look positively insane with the ups and downs over the last few months! But it's working. I'm losing, slowly, shrinking, slowly, and I feel like I can keep it off, becaus eI've changed my entire lifestyle. I don't feel the need to eat 50 lbs of pasta a month, now... I know how to control myself!

THANKS for your input - My guess is that it is HARD to get up to 1200 if one has been eating much less for an extended time. I have been sick, but the last 6 weeks I have been feeling soooo much healthier, and thought that with the daily exercises that I would start to get back on track with daily calorie intake as well.

To your well made points, I do not eat more than 3 oz of chicken (I wish I could). Condiments - I like my salads without dressing, and drink most coffee / tea without condiments.Sometimes, I have coffeemate in my coffee and track that when I do. Like everything else, I guess I will have to accept it will take time. emoticon

I think the problem is that you're limiting yourself a bit too much. Serving sizes are very useful for helping us to measure things, but you CAN eat a little more of healthy foods to help support your body's needs. I couldn't survive on 3 ozs of chicken at a meal! There's not enough in there to give me the protein I need to function. I double it up, am STILL under 200 calories, and feel a lot better.

Are you putting anything in your coffee? While coffee itself is very low cal, the condiments we put in there are not... I don't see condiments of any kind in your trackers... that may very well mean you don't use them (many people don't) but if you are using them, you DO need to add them. Half and half and sugar can add a large dose of unaccounted for calories in a 24 oz coffee if you don't track it.

I would double check the size of your wine portions. 3.5 ounces is very very small.

Pistachios, hazelnuts, walnuts, even peanuts. Leave the sunflower seeds. How could you not be able to reach 1200kCals? I can easily have it in a single meal if I don't use portion control.

don't be afraid to eat some fats. You need them.

Hey, THANKS for your comments. I'll add hard boiled eggs to my snack :)

How do I make my food diary public? Sorry, but I'm a newbie, and don't know all the ins & outs. THANKS!

I am not so good at this myself, so I have very little advice. I add avocado and black beans to my salad. I have started reviewing and cooking a few of the recipes here at spark people, that has helped. I do understand it can be very hard some days to reach those 1200+ calories. I do make sure I track EVERYTHING I put in my mouth. I also remind myself that I have to reach all my minimums or I will not lose weight. That might mean eating a boiled egg for snack. Good luck, think outside the box.

Wish I could say that I am not tracking all my meals, or misjudge portion sizes but that honestly isn't my problem. I have some allergies, and can't eat wheat or dairy. Getting my calorie intake up to 1200 calories per day is HARD! The only weapon I have to even get close is to eat plenty of walnuts or sunflower kernels ... Any ideas appreciated!
