I turn to computer gaming for about ten to twenty minutes. It relieves my stress and takes away the urge to eat everything in sight. so perhaps you could find some activity that works for you?

I agree with the music comments so much that I've added it to my other goals as a daily "requirement". Makes for motivated to move and entertains your mind to no be thinking about food. Turn off the TV, it is just the opposite reminding you to eat every few minutes - horrible.

Then look at your body as a machine the is designed to signal you to keep eating until it gets it's daily checklist. If you are running really low on clean proteins, fruits and're signals are going to be in overdrive while eating small amounts of food not filled with the checklist of nutrients. Eat MORE...of the good for you stuff. Rotate types of vegetables.

It is practice for the mind and body to get it right. If you commit to just a few weeks of really healthy food the cravings will drop off. If you are grazing late at night, you're probably tired and need more sleep. If you are grazing mid afternoon, you may not have put enough protein into your early day. No matter what, this is about you and what works for you. Look over your logs to a time when all was going well and try to put that bad in place. Otherwise learn from times when never ending hunger pops in --- stress, bored, tired, eat too little the days previous, ate something really fatty the day before. or what ever. You will find what works, just continue on doing your best .

I don't believe that food is the only outlet that you have. Food is not the enemy it can be our friend. I try to find other things not food related when I am having a bad day. I go for a walk, talk to a friend.........or Jesus or find something else to get my mind off of it. In my old habits I thought it was the only choice I had but............NOT ANY MORE........!

Bad days are tough for me since I have a 2 yr old and I'm limited to when I can exercise to get through a bad time. I have replaced all my snack food with fruit so at least when I get the urge to eat it is healthy things. I have found the most important thing is to not be too down on yourself if you have a bad day. Just stand up, dust yourself off and keep moving forward.

I will go for a long walk listening to my music. It relaxes me. By the time I get back, I usually have forgotten about wanting something I shouldn't have. However, if I still want something, I will have it in moderation and get over it. Tomorrow is another day. I hope your day is going better & remember you can always re-group tomorrow.

I exercise. Even if I can't do anything about the situation I'm in, I can do something good for myself *and* get those endorphins running. If I have the time I go out for a long bike ride, but if I just have a few minutes to decompress, I do some shadow boxing or even actual boxing, hitting [soft!] surfaces if I'm *really* frustrated. Punching inanimate objects is always a great stress relief!

I tell myself that eating won't solve my problems, in fact it might only add to them.

If I'm feeling blue, if I can, I try to do something for myself whether it be taking a nap, going for a walk, watching a movie, getting a massage, etc. If on the other hand if I'm really pissed off or stressed out, I find that a vigorous workout or just rocking out to some music really hits the spot.

Are you in a bad week rut or just the day? I sometimes will just go ahead and try to make it not as much. Sometimes you just have to concertrate on one thing. Take care of the bad day, then go back to the eating

I've been feeling kind of bummed lately myself.

There have been a couple of days where I have kind of thrown in the towel, so to speak. I logged all of my food, but I went way over my cal range. The key is noticing when things are going south and stopping the insanity. Am I going to let a bad day or a negative attitude ruin all that I have accomplished? Heck no. So I guess I just kept my eye on the prize and got back in the saddle and all of those other cliches. lol

Try to find something else to do instead of eating. Journal, go for a walk, talk with a friend, or get busy with your favorite hobby. Painting, drawing, scrapbooking, whatever makes you happy and something that you won't regret later like EATING everything in the cupboards.

You can do it, I can too!

What do you guys do when you are just having a bad day? You want to eat all the wrong foods and you see no other outlet?
