Weeeird... The green grapes we always buy locally here are a bit sweeter than the red I buy for myself. Today, I learned!

Definitely firm (squishy grapes are gross!) and ideally freshly removed from the fridge so their super cold.

Callmecarrie, as a grape fanatic who indulges daily, I typically call a "serving" about one cup. Not sure if that's the standard, but it's what I use. The size of the grapes will make the count vary widely, so I just pull and measure (or eyeball it since margin for error is pretty forgiving given the calorie punch). One cup is about 62 calories, 16 carb (15 sugar, ~1g fiber, 0.5g protein). Not sure why, but I find it very filling. Maybe because they're often my afternoon snack, so I pop them one at a time between working on things, and it lasts me most of the afternoon.

I eat black seedless grapes. Once in a while red seedless.

Any crisp fresh grapes are OK with me, although I really like the green grapes. What is generally considered a serving? Is it 10 grapes? I know they can be high in sugar. One other grape-related question: is it acceptable in grocery stores to partially unpack a bag of grapes and put more in one bag and less than another? They're sold by the pound and usually in 2 lb bags, which is way too much for my husband and I. I want to buy them, but only about a pound.

I like them all but mostly I buy the green ones since it's easier to find the seedless variety year round. I hate the seeded ones.

First choice black, second choice red, third choice white/green--no deep, interesting reason other than flavor preference. I agree with others, though, that they really have to be firm and crisp.

I am very picky about grapes...BTW red grapes are actually higher in sugar but make a dryer less sweet wine where white grapes are less sweet and make a sweeter less dry wine, go figure. I like them when they are very fresh and firm, but they have to be green. However I love red wine and drink it over white wines usually.

I like either as long as they are firm and sweet. I don't like mushy grapes.

Do you like red or green/white grapes the best? Do you have a reason?

I prefer red grapes over white. While I generally prefer a sweeter fruit and white are sweeter than red, I just like the taste of red grapes better. My preference has been established for years, then I found this article which made me happy about the extra nutritional my choice stuck with me.

My hubby and son prefer white, so we buy both.
