I have bad knees and hips from osteoarthritis. I have found the eliptical trainer to be a godsend for burning calories. Once I lost 40 pounds(lost some weight before I discovered SP) I was able to start to jog a little, and that has helped me to lose more weight and change up my workout regime. I never thought I would be able to run again, but thanks to starting out with the eliptical I can.

Just my 2 cents - I had to stop doing Chalean Extreme even though I LOVE it. Way too hard on my knees. The hard core weight training felt great, but you are constantly doing squats & lunges with every single exercise using those heavy weights. And rotating that with Chalene's high impact extreme cardio sent me to the doctor. Yes, I already had bad knees - she didn't make that happen lol. But I was diagnosed with osteoarthritis of the knees and was told NO more high impact stuff and no squatting with heavy weights. Sigh. I just started that program, too. Booo!

Anyway, I just wanted to throw that out there. If Slim in 6 was too much on your knees, Chalean Extreme may not be the best choice.

Although my response doesn't address your question, it does provide a friendly suggestion.

Do you have access to a pool? Swimming / water aerobics are zero impact, so I don't anticipate these activities aggravating your knees. However, you might not want to do whip kick. ;-)

Good luck!

I absolutely love Turbo Jam, but it was hard on my knees. I had to stop doing it everyday since I was too enthusiastic doing the routine. If you do purchase it, go with the lower impact moves!!

I'm trying to save up for the Chalean Extreme, so if you get that one, let ME know how it goes!

About three months ago, I tried Slim in 6 but it was way too much for my knees. I've been thinking of trying Turbo Jam or maybe Chalean Extreme, but would love input on any of the Beachbody workouts. Any tips or suggestions? Thanks! emoticon
