Most diet supplements (especially those that say they help weight loss) are money making schemes. These products are not regulated by the FDA, so they can make any claims that they want as long as they don't say that they will treat or cure a disease.

a friend had adverse side effects from some "diet supplement" she purchased about a year ago. I think It may just be a money making scheme

I tried it a long time ago. It didn't work. I don't remember if I had any adverse health effects from it, but I wouldn't be surprised.

thanks to all of ou. reason I asked is this: I had a job (lost job after 2 weeks on the job, which is a story in and of itself) that sold this product. I believe that it is bad for you. I have lost aboutg 40 pounds. nothing like diet and exercise

Don't take it! It's bad news. Unfortunately, like everyone else will tell you, there are no weight-loss short cuts.

Save your money - the only way you will safely lose weight is to watch your calorie intake, making sure that you get quality food in rather than 'cheap and nasty', and getting some exercise. Weigh all of your food for increased accuracy and enter it all into the nutrition tracker. Then you be able to make good decisions with your nutrition based on knowledge.

Use your friend's hospital admission is a timely warning for you.

Good luck,

I recently heard of a product called Garcinia Cambogia. It is a plant that is suopposed to help you lose weight. A friend said she took it and got sick from it -- wound up in hospital. Any one else try it?
