I'm in north western Wisconsin. The Wendy's that used to be a mile from my house closed. There was an awesome bar and grill in the next town over: they had amazing angus and turkey burgers you could get on a pretzel bun. Now it's been replaced by a Denny's. our A&W is gone - replaced by a Chipotle. We used to have an Outback too, however the restaurant that replaced that is a Brazillian steak house and like 5 times better - I'm ok with that one. One place we've never had in my area is a Steak & Shake, but I sure wish we did. Oh how I wish we did.....

Burger Chef! although I wouldn't be eating there now even if they were still around. Hungry Bear buffet in Orlando FL. Brothers Three in Tallahassee. Pueblo Village on the beach in Largo FL. They made the most amazing BBQ, right in a pit in the store. The aroma was incredible. The recipe died with the brothers. What a shame. A little hole-in-the-wall restaurant, but upscale, in downtown Clearwater. The seafood house on the beach in Longboat Key. Another seafood restaurant on US 19 also in Clearwater...I think it was called "The Fish House". It's a Sam Seltzer's now. The Pub on Indian Rocks Beach. The restaurant is still there... but it's nothing like it used to be. King's Cellar on Daytona Beach. The bakery in the Maas' Brothers Restaurant, a department store in Clearwater.
For foods - I used to love those raisin biscuits. You can get facsimiles, but they're not the same. And Brown-Edged wafers! Pepperidge Farm's green bean casserole en croute - in little puffy pastry shells. Who made those little bitty frozen egg rolls? Chun King? La Choy? Loved those. There used to be some little salamis in tins that were good. About the size of Vienna Sausages, but it was salami. Recently, Sam's had a promotion on mini-Jarlsberg cheese rounds - same size as Bonbel snack cheeses. As soon as I got hooked on the Jarlsberg, they dropped it. Naturally.

Both Applebee's and Chili's aren't gone per se, but the locations close to where I live shut their doors.
I loved the Kahiki in Columbus, along with Victoria Station which had the best steaks in the area! Eating out was always a treat since we couldn't afford it, Now everything seems tastless prepackaged/preportioned, and overpriced!

I wish we had a Del Taco, as I've heard great things about that place. But we do have Taco Bell and I've been a Taco Bell addict for many years. Of course, for obvious reasons, I don't eat it very often. But I really miss the fajita wraps they had several years ago. I always ordered the veggie, which was basically onions and bell pepper (both red and green) wrapped up in a tortilla with a flavorful sauce. So good.

There are lots of Del Tacos in Oregon...though I have never eaten at one.
My neighborhood Marie Callendar's is now a really cool Mexican store and restaurant.
12/21/13 11:51 A
Marie Callender is still in business in some places but not in Oregon where I live 4 to 5 months out of the year nor in AZ where we reside the rest of the time. You can still find frozen products but honestly, after trying a few of them, they're a big disappointment & not worth the money.
I don't know if they still have it in Australia, but when I was a student there, I was introduced to caramel crowns by my then bf. They are still my fave dessert! But they don't sell them here in Malaysia! I sure miss them!
Food: my local Wegmans (in Central NJ) used to have these fabulous sushi rolls, the Green Vegetable and the Citrus Tofu roll. They still have vegetarian rolls, but those two were so unique and delicious!
Panera's babka and Starbucks' cinnamon chocolate cake (limited edition/seasonal items)
... and if drinks count... Diet Dr. Pepper used to have a berry flavor that I haven't seen for yeeeeears.
Restaurant: also a local issue--there was a grand and very classy Japanese steakhouse called Shiki, which used to be the only Japanese joint for miiiiles... but it's since been squeezed out by the explosion of cheaper Asian fusion places over the past decade or so.
I love good sea food so I miss Sea Galley..........

The Green Ridge Turkey Farm in Nashua, NH on Daniel Webster Highway.
Not only did they have great turkey dinners, they served the best apple pies ! You didn't even have to buy a whole 8-9 inch pie. they made little 3-4 inch personal pies too ! I believe their location is now the Barnes and Noble super store.
Hilltop Steak House, Saugus, MA.
In its heyday, you had to wait 45mins to an hour to get a table. The place was always packed when I went there as a kid. If you didn't want steak, they were also famous for their lobster casserole. Haven't eaten there in years. My family used to buy steaks from their buchershop. The restaurant recently closed. :(

Del Taco - they still exist, but they are few and far between in GA. Clean, fresh, everything made in the store (even the refried beans and chips)
When I was a kid, we ate Stouffer's (I think) ham and cheese croissants that we loved. I don't know that I would still like them, but back then I thought they were great. We also used to get gingerbread man ice cream sandwiches that I haven't seen in years. Granted, I haven't looked in about 10, but still... There are lots of restaurants I have moved away from that I miss and my favorite pizza place was just bought out. Sigh, no more cheeseless garlic and olive oil sauce veggie and chicken pizza with a bit of bacon sprinkled on top.

MATTHEW0498, me too. Their seafood chimis were to die for. I haven't found a Mexican restaurant since that serves seafood chimis.

This one really burned me! Costco replaced their sugar-cured thick-sliced bacon with applewood smoked bacon. It's OK, but not near as good as the one they replaced.

I'm in Columbus Ohio and we had a restaurant here that was the most fabulous place, called the Kahiki. 30 or 40 years that place stood. Was my mom & dad's favorite place to go when we were kids and was my favorite place as well when I got older. Now it's gone. Many people in Columbus so wish it was still there.
I also miss Chi-Chi's.

I liked the Rax roast beef chain. Red Baron made a stuffed pizza slice that I miss. I think chocolate-covered,vanilla-filled pudding pies are a thing of the past. I preferred Chef Boyardee cannelloni to the ravioli. It has been gone for years.
