Bad weeks happen. The fact that you recognize it is a great start. Healthy living is the long haul, hang in there!

emoticon That's wonderful, Allie! Happy upcoming birthday and anniversary! I feel sure that by the time the holidays arrive, you'll have found lots and lots of gluten-free alternatives to many of your favorite foods, too.

Thanks everyone for the moral support!!!
New Challenge as of Dr.appt.yesterday have to go Gluten free diet.ALTHOUGH I was worried about it,I accepted the challenge and faced the issues of it today.I spent about 90 minutes at the store searching my options and to my surprise found thata bunch of things I usually buy are gluten free. The other things I can live with out.I know it's not going to be a problem for me and so thankful for that.
At least the Holidays are far away enough so that by the time they get here I will have been gluten free long enough and plan ahead for them.
ALTHOUGH my 59th Birthday and 42nd anniversary is on August 19th. emoticon
I have enough time to plan for that too, glad it's on a weekday. emoticon

emoticon goodness, you've been hit by a tsunami of stress! Not one, but TWO spinal taps? My heart goes out to you (as does my spinal cord! I had one of those once, and that was plenty.) I'm sorry that you got the miserable headache that can go along with these, too...

More than anything, I hope you're on the road to recovery. You've already made some great progress so far, and I bet you'll keep on keepin' on down that road, Allie. Wishing you a bushel basket of better health!

The battle may be lost for one day, but definitely not the war. I think this place is great for venting and then moving on which is what you did - good job

Thanks for the feedback,I actually am having tummy issues.I am either stopped up,which is the case right now or am having upset tummy( uncontrollably),yes am seeing Gastroenterologist and they have ruled out alot of things but he believes that I am gluten sensitive. Not sure what to do food wise about the problem.

I do tend to beat myself up a bit when I know I can do what I am supposed to for myself. But "Never give up" is my motto!!
I have not been able to get to the gymn because of tummy issues but just purchase d sweating to the oldies video with Richard Simmons and am going to start that as it's something that I can do at home..

Thanks again,
Allie emoticon

Allie, I admire you for admitting your slip-up and owning it. You can do this! Hope you're feeling better soon.

Hi, Allie !

Stop beating yourself up !! One week of less than healthy eating WILL NOT make or break your healthy lifestyle.

Unless you ate an extra 17,500+ calories worth of food, you did NOT gain 5-6 pounds of fat. In order to truly gain one pound of fat, you have to eat an extra 3,500 calories on top of your normal intake. So, if you didn't gain fat, why did you gain weight ? Easy, water retention if you ate foods that were loaded with salt/sodium.

Ever notice that your weight goes up during TOM ? Most women tend to gain weight during their menstrual cycle. Is that a fat gain ? Nope, it's nothing more than a temporary water weight gain that passes in a few days.

Also, not to get TMI, but did you weigh yourself after a bowel movement ? Food has weight. Water has weight. So, if you don't do a poop in the morning, the physical weight of all the food and water you ate the day before is still in your intestines.

Your weight is going to vary from week to week and that doesn't mean you're doing something wrong. I can easily gain or lose as much as 3-4 pounds in a day because of a shift in my water weight.

In short, stop beating yourself up. Remember, you're trying to change habits learned over a life time. That's not going to happen overnight, a week, a month or even a year. Change takes time. thus the need to be patient with yourself and your body.

What to do ? Try to be more mindful this week. Try to eat more servings of fresh fruit and veggies. Try to watch your portions. Don't kill yourself in the gym or starve yourself. Both imply that you did something wrong and deserve to be punished. You didn't do anything wrong.

Be kind to yourself as you would to others.

I am so disgusted with my week!!!!!!!!!!!!
I own the fact I did not pay attention, did not track and ate so many unhealthy snacks, very little exercise that I gained 6 lbs. Been sick for 2 weeks, had 2 spinal taps and bad reaction to both so spinal headache for 5 days!!!!!!!!!!!!ughhhh!!!

But in it for the long hall so new day ,fresh start!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just had to vent and own it!!!!
Thanks for listening everyone!!!
