Did the doctor diagnose with adrenal fatigue? Because personally I'd ask for a more in depth treatment plan or look for a different doctor.

Thank you to all my fellow Sparkers. I stopped taking the supplement and have had 2 nights of sleeping. emoticon

Yes ginseng is a stimulant..increases least for me. I take melatonin at night with very good results.

Allow for a bedtime snack of protein and carbs. Such as milk and Graham cracker. Good luck to you.

Don't take the supplement at night. If you're taking it twice a day, take it with breakfast and lunch.

Also, try and keep your blood levels from crashing.Make sure you are eating snacks and meals consistently. Low blood sugar at night will also cause cortisol to spike at night and keep you from sleeping.... something I've learned the hard way.

I don't know anything about the supplement you're taking, but like CallmeCarrie, my doctor has told me that over the counter sleep aids are fine for occasional bouts of sleeplessness. The ones I take can be taken any time of the night and don't leave me groggy the next day.

Lack of sleep just makes everything else so much more difficult to deal with. I hope you find some good sleep and soon!

The supplement you bought may or may not work. I had a sleep study recently and the doctor said there's nothing wrong with an over-the-counter sleep aid like Simply Rest, which is basically like Benadryl. I find one or two of these pretty effective for bouts of sleeplessness. If you continue to have problems with lack of sleep, I would ask the doctor for help. That sounds miserable.

I don't know anything about the supplement, but my first thought was, did the doctor recommend the supplement?

My second thought was, if you can find any reserve of energy, have you tried adding exercise to your routine? I know it seems counterintuitive but exercise is fantastic for increasing energy levels, helps lower stress levels, AND helps improve sleep. So adding some cardio to your day may help!! Good luck!

Hi Everyone! I have been under a tremendous amount of stress lately.I do not get a deep sleep. My doctor said that my adrenal glands were exhausted. So I went to the health food store and bought a supplement for adrenal gland support. The idea of this supplement is to strengthen the adrenal glands with the benefit of a deeper sleep. For the last 3 nights I have not slept. Just laid there. Today I am so exhausted I can hardly move. Also, my weight loss is very slow. If I lose a bit, I gain it back. I am so discouraged and tired beyond words. The supplement has ginseng in it. I was wondering if that had anything to do with my inability to fall asleep. I think gingseng is a stimulant. Don't know how putting this in the supplement would help me get a deeper sleep. emoticon
