Thanks everyone for the feedback...I'll certainly suck it up and persevere with this. I'm mostly enjoying the journey, I think I am just feeling a little flat because I've been unwell.
Time to shake it off and get on with it..

The plateau depends on you. Hope you feel better soon!!!

Hang in there as plateaus eventually come to an end. They can be very frustrating, as all of us know, but when you eventually see a BIG drop on the scale, you'll be so pleased that you stuck with it!!! If you're sticking with a sound program, the weight WILL come off, it's just a matter of time.

To break through a plateau, I change up my diet a bit. Sometimes I'll eat something that I wouldn't normally like, like a candy bar, and the next day I lose! (Not that I'm recommending candy bars, but you get my point...) Or change up your exercise plan a bit, maybe by trying something new... Sometimes, whether it's a new food or a new exercise routine, a change is all it takes.

Anyway, we're all here for you to help you through these frustrating times!!
Feel better!!!

SparkPeople has a 3 part article on plateau busting that may help you:

One thing I have heard is you should try calorie cycling. One day eat at your normal amount of calories, the next day eat way less than your normal amount of calories, the third day eat normal again, and keep alternating like that. I have no idea if it works.

Yes, we all do have plateaus. I too have gotten the scale to move again by eating more calories and then going back to my 1200 - 1500.

Give yourself a day...just one from being a stickler. Enjoy foods that you like, even if it means going over your calories. Confuse the hello out of your body, right? The next day, you go back to doing what you've been doing, and I can almost...almost...guarantee you will start seeing the scale move again.
Also, don't rely solely on the scale. It is a tool. Not a dictator. The biggest measurement of success is the measuring tape and how your clothes fit and how you feel.

Don't be discouraged. Everyone has plateus. Purecountry has great suggestions that have worked for me in the past as well.

i had plateaued for about 2-3 weeks and then I read Jillian's master your metabolism and started eating every 4 hours, not big meals, enough to keep you full, and ate a majority of my calories in the morning and then my last meal was low carbs high protein, nothing after 9 and the pounds have started to drop again. Good luck to you, I know it is frustrating.

Well I've been unwell this week, mostly related to a dental issue and the subsequent treatment. Generally the scales have not really moved much lately even though I've been obsessive about my diet.
Just wondering how long these plateaus last and if there's anything I can do to kick start results again... emoticon
