I'm lucky, I have a small family and food allergies so I eat what I can and no pressure :)

Learning how to eat sensibly in social situations is a skill we must all learn. It looks like you are doing quite well! Keep it up!!

Well, all in all, I did pretty well last night. I'd say the worst of it was enjoying a couple of extra glasses of my homemade wine. I even skipped dessert! My sister's delicious apple pie! I'd have had a small taste this morning, but my son grabbed the leftover pie and ate it all! He's skinny as a rail.

Hopped on the scale this morning and no harm was done. I'll go outside and walk up and down the driveway (a long slope) a couple of times just to top off the day.

Thanks to all of you who responded to my plea for advice and support. Let me know if ever I can return the favor. Have a great weekend! emoticon

BethS60 said it well. The knife is a powerful tool. I'm going to remember that for myself too. Also, keep in mind that if you control yourself you (granted by me, your SP buddy) have the right to come on here later tonight and tell us all how well you did. Brag even. lol

You CAN do this... and please tell me the same when it's my turn for a pep talk.

I wish you well.

Just make sure that there are plenty of healthy options. If you find yourself eating mindlessly, you are way better off having a plate full of celery sticks than a play full of biscuits.

Also, remember that a knife is a very powerful tool. You can turn a 400 calorie cupcake into a 100 calorie dessert by cutting it into 4ths and only eating 1/4 of it.

And as Archimedes says, one day isn't going to make any difference in the long term. If you go a little over on one meal, it's not a big deal, as long as the rest of the time you are sticking with your plan.

Good luck! emoticon

Don't worry ! Do your best to be mindful of your portions. However, don't beat yourself up if you end up eating a bit more than you wanted. One over indulgent meal or day of eating WILL NOT make or break your healthy lifestyle.

Eat as healthfully as you can during the day. Enjoy yourself at the dinner this evening. NO GUILT necessary. And like I said, if you end up eating a little too much, that does not make you a bad person or an unhealthy one. We've all had days we've eaten more than others. As long as this doesn't happen every day, you'll be fine.

Don't worry !

Family dinner tonight at my house. I've been doing so well for the past couple of weeks (after Easter) and I'm worried about falling, jumping, being pushed off the proverbial food wagon tonight. I need to eat and drink sensibly, mindfully, and carefully. Wish me luck!!
Ideas for staying aware and on the program are most welcome, indeed...
Thanks! emoticon
