I thoroughly enjoy that show. They concentrate on the entire health of the participant, which includes the mind as well. I like that they got him started on coaching football. What a perfect job for him. Unfortunately both his two siblings and parents are over weight. He lives with them so I hope he keeps his weight off.
I just finished watching it too and I enjoy it every week. Just for any bits of advice and inspiration. I feel the same way about BL...but I still love it. I admit they sell out at times and tend to sometimes promote the products and drama more then the proper path for lifestyle changes. But honestly you see that in everything on TV, so have to try to focus on the positives. Plus I love the trainers. All of them. They are all so feisty. :) Just my two cents. Fun topic.

I think this show promotes healthy weight loss as you see the candidate losing the weight over 1 year period and by eating right, exercising etc. You are correct that last night, the trainer had discussed the malnourishment of the young man when his hair started falling out and took him to the proper doctor. Then the 2nd time it happened, the surgeon refused to operate until the young man's levels were in the safe maintenance range.
All in all I really like this show and that young man's parents should be very proud of him....I had the Kleenex out when he took his first bike ride and the fact he never ever gave up throughout the whole process.
Two thumbs up for this show whereas I think BL is a definite 2 thumbs down for weight loss shows.

Ok, I know a lot of people don't like the show, that's not what this is about. First of all, I'm from WI & a Packer fan,so last night's show was awesome on many levels.HEL-LO Clay & Double D!!! Second, this kid was was pretty awesome. I thought it was really interesting that the show is so diligent about the health of the the participants. He (I forgot his name) chose to stick to mostly protein shakes for nutrition & was called out on it twice. He developed a fear of eating basically, which I have seen with people I know who have lost a lot of weight. At the end the surgeon wouldn't approve surgery for loose skin removal because he was malnourished. A great reminder that losing weight isn't just about losing weight, it's about learning to be healthy.
