It doesn't sound like you really understand more now. Especially with the comment that you just have "to work harder". Everyone has told you that working hard is NOT a solution. Exercising is good for your health. Losing extra weight is good for your health.

But getting rid of excess skin will only come with time, good skin genes, or plastic surgery......

I've also heard in addition to your diet that MSM helps as well.

I agree with the advice you've been given. I think some of that skin can shrink back on it's own over time, but there really aren't exercises you can do to target this area. I hate to say it, but I think surgery could be your only option if you have a significant amount of skin in that area.

Sorry I don't have a better answer for you!

Depends on family history. Slow weight might help a little.

Thank you for your reply. I was hoping there was another way besides surgery to get rid of the excess skin.
I understand why your friend decided not to go that route....
Is there any certain exercise that can help me or something?

Thank you for your reply. I am not losing weight fast at all, kinda wish I would. I have the excess skin from the pregnancy belly and my tummy has been cut 5 times in the same spot so there is no muscle there. I know I have to work 10x's harder than anyone else because of that, its just the skin....I only have that problem in the tummy, no where else. I am clueless and it is very deterring.

You can also lose slower. How fast are you losing? The faster you lose, the more your skin hangs and can't keep up. Skin can keep up with a pound a week or so of loss and it generally won't cause skin-hanging issues to lose weight at that rate.

It's not really possible to "lose" excess skin through exercise and diet. Your skin naturally loses elasticity as you age, and it may not fully snap back to it's "original" shape after having been stretched by experiences like pregnancy, significant weight gain, etc.

Your skin may tighten up over a longer period of time - I have a friend who lost over 100 pounds almost 2 years ago now, and she continues to see changes in the appearance of her skin through the present. Staying hydrated can help as well, I think. However, the only way to really get rid of the skin is through plastic surgery, which I understand to be very painful, and also limiting - my friend was told by her doctor that if she had the procedure done, she could never have children because the remaining skin wouldn't be able to stretch to accomodate a pregnancy, one of the many reasons she decided against the procedure.
