My dad lost over 150 lbs when he was almost 50. A LOT of the weight he lost was from his abdomen. I took a year or so, but the skin did shrink. I'm sure yours will tighten back up a LOT faster. It might take a little time, but the skin will shrink.

Extra skin on the belly, arms or legs is a concern for individuals who have a large amount of weight to lose. This extra skin experience seems to happen more in people who lose a large amount of weight in a relatively short period of time.

It takes longer for the skin to "shrink" than to lose the weight. In most cases, when you are losing weight slowly and consistently (about 1-2 pounds a week), the skin will naturally "shrink" so to speak, along with the loss of fat. So you’ll need to give it some time. Exercise with weights, which helps to tone your muscles, can also help with the skin.

"Special creams" really do not work and can border on being rip-offs. However, you can use a good moisturizer to hydrate the skin.

I've read on other posts that some people's skin tightens back up over time. And it also depends on how many times a person gains and loses the same weight over and over. Kind of like a balloon blown up and deflated many times. It gets stretched thinner and stays that way. So good words, lose the weight, take care of the skin, and never allow yourself to regain what you do lose.
You can do this!!

I've lost 12.8 lbs and 8.5 inches in the last month and feel incredible!

But I can see my skin is not as tight as it could be in some areas. A great reminder that I lost the weight but I'd rather have it tighten and firm up a bit while I'm losing the weight so I have less to worry about when I do get down to my ideal weight. A friend of mine lost over 130lbs and is going through a big depression now because of the excess skin so I'd really like to deal with it as I go.

I've heard a good collagen lotion can help but I don't want to aimlessly shop, what have you guys used with success?

Any other tips?
