Justbirdy, you may be on to something. I have nearly eliminated wheat from my diet, and the eggs I have had recently have been eaten without it. If I do have reactions to wheat they are very subtle, the one that motivates me to stay off the wheat is a problem staying and getting back to sleep. When I have wheat a couple days in a row, even just one bun a day, the sleep problems return. So perhaps my egg issue is related to having egg on wheat.

Sometimes I bake with ener-g egg replacer instead of eggs, and it works well. It comes in a box of powder,which you mix with water, and it works well to thicken baked goods.

Can be found in health sections of grocery stores.

I wouldn't look for a supplement to eliminate the symptoms if a particular food is making you physically sick. People have food insensitivity to one or more types of food, or outright allergies to certain foods. I think it just means that your body is telling you to stop.

Sometimes, it's because a person doesn't have a particular enzyme (lactose intolerance). Other reasons might be because you started out with a mild allergy and over time it's just become worse. Still other reasons might be that you need to eat other foods in combination with the food that's causing problems. It could be any number of things. But a supplement to mask the symptoms isn't the answer, IMO.

I have very mild allergies to milk and chocolate. Both will cause me to sneeze once in a while (not every time). So I really limit my intake because I enjoy both. However, Kale and mustard greens make me physically ill every time. As a child I could eat both, but as an adult my body changed... so I don't eat either of those at all anymore. I switched for baby spinach, and have no problems.

There are alternatives to eggs that are vegetarian/vegan. You could try those. Egg Beaters are made with egg whites only, so that might NOT be the best option for you if it's a protein in the egg whites. I've heard about Ener-G Egg Replacer, but have not tried it yet. I used to have this problem, but now eat a dozen or so eggs a week. For me, it is important to limit wheat and then I can eat pretty much everything with no problem. I also eat eggs with bacon and greens and other vegetables. Eating a plain egg, or an egg with just mayo, really doesn't suit me.

I found a solution!!! So I'm going to share.
Kifer - a cultured milk probiotic drink that is yummy and loaded with a variety of probiotics.
I have had eggs three times now, accompanied with a glass of Kifer and zero symptoms.

You may just have to go without. I can't do dairy and it took me about 10 years to get used to not eating it and not be upset by things like people drinking milk in front of me.

But I would suggest that you try asking a health food store place like Whole Foods.

Thanks for the comments. I have eliminated eating eggs for the last year or so and am symptom free. I miss them tho. Fortunately i only notice the severe synptoms with a dose of straight egg white, haven't noticed problems with cooked goods that include some egg ingredient. Was sort of hoping someone may have heard of a curative supplement.

I second the idea that if it makes you sick, don't eat it.

You don't have to eat eggs, many of us do not. There are many other options, and many things you can do in place of eggs.

I also forgot to tell you

Seeds are an easily digestible source of protein that are not likely to cause gas. Pumpkin seeds are especially high in protein, low in calories and fat. Sunflower seeds have protein & almonds are particularly high in protein. Nuts are an excellent source of gas-free protein, as well as chicken, turkey,beans, peas, fidh, cottage cheese, and peanut butter.

Digestive enzymes might help. My doctor put me on an elimination diet last year because I was experiencing similar symptoms as well as inflammation... egg whites was definitely one of the culprits (as was dairy casein, wheat, tomatoes, chocolate, coffee and corn). Talk to your doctor about having a blood test to confirm your diagnosis and go from there.*

* I've been able to add in all but wheat (gluten) back to my diet. Still working on that one.

You could also not consume eggs. Allergies/sensitivities can emerge at any time. To me it seems logical to avoid eating something that's causing problems. Eliminating eggs for a time would also confirm that it is in fact a problem.

Our bodies change all the time. Yes, eggs can be gassy and cause bloat. Aside from eliminating eggs from your diet, you might try flaxseeds to get the protein you need ot taking digestive enzymes to assist with the absorption of nutrients. Talk with your doctor.

Dont forget eggs are used in many foods such as mayonnaise, baked goods, pasta, lunchmeats, puddings, and frostings. Bananas also cause gas, as do milk, ice cream, and soft cheese. Fluffy wheat products like bread & artificial sweeteners & carbonated beverages can be a culprit too! Try Rye bread instead of other breads to reduce gas too.

Maybe try some chamolie tea as it is a carmative and helps the tummy. Chew slowly and thoroughly. Gas can be a sign of undigested food, so take a walk after eating to help digest your food.

I used to eat eggs all the time. Used egg whites for low cal protein, but now if I consume egg whites I get a terrible stomach ache, gas pains and nausea. When this started it took a while to narrow down the culprit, but it is definitely the egg white. All I could find on the web was that my stomach acid may be is necessary for the digestion of the types of protein in eggs. Anyone know what I can add to my diet or supplements to aid this?
