Not sure why your program is set to only consume 61-87 % but you can aim for 100-120% and be in a good place.

Honestly I don't think that's anything to worry about, especially when you're menstruating. My own doctor has recommended I get up to 130% of the DV during menstruation because of the heavy bleeding. Also, because I don't like a lot of meat that has iron in it, it's not all absorbed 100%- heme iron, or blood iron, is best absorbed into our bodies, and that's only found in animals. Non-heme iron, or iron that isn't from blood already, is found in plants, and it's harder for your body to absorb it. So I would say don't worry.

I usually have 95-101 of iron when it says to have like 61-87.

I would subsitute cereal for a better breakfast like oatmeal or eggs, and see if your iron percentage changes any. If it doesn't, it might not be worth giving up cerel for.

Have you been tracking your iron on Spark? What % of RDA are you at? Why do you think you are getting too much?

Basically I would just stop eating foods with high iron content, and try to get more diverse foods in your diet!

You're right; eating too much iron can be really bad for you. Eating too much of anything is bad, and the heavy metals can cause severe health problems.
However, unless you're eating a TON of cereal, you're probably not taking in enough to be dangerous. Females 13+ can take in 45 mg of iron without adverse effects. This is called the Tolerable Upper Intake Limit, or UL. 45mg is 250% of the DV% (100% DV = 18mg). If you're over that, then that's a reason to be concerned- stop eating so much cereal or things with iron in them.

Is it really bad to take in too much iron? My iron levels daily are always extreamly high but everything else is low. I read up on it and it isnt good. I don't want to die from this, I am really scared. How should I handle the too much iron? It seems like it comes from eating cereal.
