On weekdays I ride my bike to work and home from work, about 40 minutes each way. Workout handled!
The hard part is not the ride, the hard part is having all of my clothes, shoes, food, toiletries and everything I need for the day packed the night before so that I can leave on time.

Yes, when I have time. I try not to do more than one high-impact workout a day though.
For example, this morning I did 90 minutes of heavy gardening (building compost piles, moving earth, digging) and tonight I will do cardio dance for an hour. OK, two kind of medium-impact activities. :)
More typical would be something like walking in the morning and dancing at night, or swimming in the morning and lifting weights in the evening.

I exercise twice per day. I go to the YMCA after taking DH to work and do cardio, weights, and sauna. Then in the afternoon I head to PF and work with a trainer. My goal is to lose weight fast and tone up in the process. I do Yoga in the evenings. Stress eating is my biggest problem.

Yes, at least 3 to 4 days a week I exercise in the afternoon inside, then I walk outside after the sun goes down and it's a little cooler. In the desert anything below 100 degrees is a "little cooler!" Other days I either do the inside routines or just do the walk. This coming week I'm going to try to do some kind of morning exercise routine to boost up my "calories burned" goal. I'll let you know how it goes...

I workout at least two times a day, three is max but only if it's indoors or if it's cool outside. Most of my workouts are walking or walking videos and to burn as many calories as I want to, I do it. But most importantly, this gives me two and sometimes three stress busters throughout the day. It helps me immensely to be able to work out the stress and kinks of the day.

I usually do an early morning brisk 30 min walk followed by some stretches the chiro has me doing for neck/back/posture. I aim to do this every morning but am only at 4-5 per week right now. Then I try to do an exercise dvd cardio or strength training in the early to mid afternoon. The video is 60 min most days but sometimes only a 30 min one depending how I feel and how much time I have and again this is 4-5 days per week. Now that it has cooled off hubby and I will probably start doing a brisk evening 25-30 min walk most days.

Yes, but not the same exercising type. I usually do a more structured routine in the morning with weights, and things like sit ups and planks. In the afternoon, I do casual exercise like a quick basketball game, small jog, swimming, playing with my nieces.

I've been working out 2x per day since November 2013. I work out to (1) a 37 minute cross fit video and (2) a 30 minute yoga video. Both give me the complete overall body workout I need.
While I had initially started a walking routine (in January 2013 @ 210 lbs), I gradually worked up to running by May 2013 @ 160 lbs, however encountered an injury in November that turned me toward cross-fit and yoga.
Now, in August 2014, I weight 127 lbs, all with the help and commitment to cross-fit and yoga.
Wow, great answers! I don't think it occurred to me to do two exercise sessions a day. That would make a huge difference toward the calorie burn! Thank you for giving me the inspiration!

I walk just 2 mi early early (13 min mi), then come home and do T25, then do a group fitness class 5-6 days. It has made all the difference in busting through those plateaus.

All the time!
I commute by bike several days a week. I walk at lunch; sometimes I make it to the club for a short (15-20 minute) swim. Some days, I ride to the club after work for a strength training session.
During the winter, when I stop commuting by bike for 2-3 months, I continue walking at lunch. Some mornings, I run before work. (No running right now - I'm rehabbing a bad foot.) Sometimes, The Hubs wants to go for a walk in the evening. Maybe I've already ridden twice, or run, or done another workout, but I rarely tell him no if he wants to walk. I want to support his fitness as much as possible!
The way I look at it, once you've set a goal, you have two choices: make it work, or make excuses. I know my situation is unique, and not everyone has the flexibility I do. But a lot of us chose to make excuses and then wonder why we never achieve our goals.

I do two workouts M-F. Once before work and then after. However, my goals are very specific as I am building up to start training for my first full ironman in 2015. For me two workouts a day allows me to have somewhat of a life. If I did my entire workout all at once I would have to be at the gym at 4am or stay until 10pm everyday.
On the weekends I normally do one long workout, whether it be a long run (I'm currently approaching the peak of marathong training), or a long bike ride or one right after the other.
I think if I didn't have any race specific goals I would stick to only working out once a day.

I do kettlebell in the morning, then strength, cardio, and/or yoga in the afternoon depending on the day.
I don't have any other obligations so it gets me off my bum a few times.

Yes. I weight train in the A.M. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. In the P.M. I go for a 4 mile walk @ 4 mph. On Tuesday and Thursday in A.M. is my Total Gym time with a 30 minute run in the afternoon. Saturday I just walk as much as possible, about 15000 to 20000 steps according to fitbit. Sunday is rest day.

Often! I'm bodybuilding while losing weight, which is not easy. Our bodies can switch between anabolic and catabolic processes, but not minute to minute. So I have weight loss days and weight gain days.
It's never recommended to do more than 60 minutes of cardio at a time when you're trying to build muscles, because your body may start depleting muscle to fuel the cardio. I don't want that. But I also can't run yet, so I don't burn a lot of calories walking on the treadmill, etc. So, I'll often do cardio in the morning and cardio again in the evening to hit my calorie burn requirements without going over that hour.
Swim and walk. Yes I try to 'workout' twice a day - four times a week.

Depends on what you mean by "work out." I try to go for walks while I'm at work, anywhere from 10 - 25 minutes, and then try to do some cardio or pilates when I get home. I count the walking as fitness minutes, but I really don't consider it much of a "work out," at least not like running on the treadmill or elliptical.
Before my fall and elbow replacement I was exercising for 2 session a day of about 30-60 minutes each. Felt great. Now I am trying to do smaller bits of exercise as I am limited in what I can do..but also trying to do at lest 10 minutes at a time twice a day
My purpose/goal is to develop the ability/habit of exercising for 10 min daily. This is dr ordered after a heart attack. I have been pretty much totally inactive,so 10 min is a stretch for me right now. That is why I divide it into 2 5-min sessions.

I try for a second short Cybex x-train session early each evening. Even 7 minutes makes a difference in my energy level and ability to sleep. If I only have a few minutes I'll do it Tabata-style and still get a great sweat. But I'm rebuilding so I have a plan and purpose for my needs ... what's your purpose / goal?

Sometimes I take 2 yoga classes and walk 2 miles. Not easy but feel good.
Right now I have to divide my workout into 2 sessions. I am so out of shape that I can't do it all at one session. I feel it is better to get it done in 2 sessions than to not do it at all.

just for fun, not for extra calorie burn.
I'll run 10K and then bike 30K, or run or bike + ST. I won't do the same thing twice a day.

At the moment I do 3 x a week - those are the days I add in strength/light weights. I don't want those sessions to replace my morning cardio - so I add it in the evenings.

If I don't have time to get it all in in the morning I will finish up in the evening. Or sometimes I will have done my workout and then get a spontaneous invitation to go mountain biking or hiking the same day.

Is there a specific reason you want to start working out twice a day? Is it just because you like it, is it better for your schedule to do 2 shorter workouts, are you trying to lose weight faster, etc? I think it can be okay depending on the reason :)

Sometimes - I work out for at least 45 min. in every morning before work at the gym that is right across the street from my work, so sometimes I go back at noon for a spinning class or yoga class; other times if the weather is nice, I will go for a walk at noon.

Very rarely, and usually the second workout is an evening yoga class. When I workout in the mornings, I push myself to the max so my body needs the time to recover before my next workout.
