My current range is actually 1420-1770. I don't eat less than 1420, and I'm usually somewhere between 1500 and 1600. On my long run days (once a week), I'm right up near the top of my range.

So are you sticking to the 1200 calorie minimum no matter what exercise? I spent the entire morning working hard in the garden and yard, my BS is down to 101 and I intend to eat a good lunch. My goal weight is not actually my ideal weight which would be at least five pounds less and thats where I hope to be eventually Millie

Millifred, actually, when you're down to your last 5 lbs., it's pretty reasonable to expect to lose only about 0.25 lbs./week (sometimes a little more, sometimes a little less, but definitely not a pound a week). You're very close to maintenance, and your body is basically "normalizing" itself. I'm within about 5 lbs. now myself, and that's where I am.

I have tracked daily for months for both nutrition and fitness and Spark will not change that nutrition goal because that is what they consider safe. I know from experience if I put in sedentary and exercise for two hours per day most days and have put 90 minutes as my goal the calorie recommendation does not change. Wiith the other site it does change reflecting the fact that you need fewer calories at 150 pounds for example than you do at 160 pounds. I think this is why I have hit a plateau on Spark. I think I really need to eat about 1100 calories if I am going to lose weight at more than about 1/2 pound a month. I really don't want to take a year to lose 6 pounds and get to my goal weight when I can get there a lot faster by going down 100 calories a day.

In coming up with an intake recommendation, Spark has already taken into account the exercise levels set out in your Exercise Goals. So to 'eat back' your exercise calories would in fact be double counting them, and could sabotage your weight loss efforts.

If you are regularly exercising more than what is set out in your goals (averaged across the entire week), then you may want to update your Exercise Goals (accessible from the LH side of the Start page), so that Spark can take this into account.

To some extent; if you go to their plan tells you exactly how many calories you need to lose the weight you want to lose. Then it tells you how much you can eat and still lose that weight as you exercise. With the Spark program it gives us a minimum of 1200 calories and with only 6 pounds to my goal I don't lose at 1200 calories unless I exercise quite a bit like 2 hours a day. My calorie goal to lose one pound per week from the other site would be 1086 calories a day which really is not adequate nutrition. I make sure I exercise at least enough on any day to eat my 1200 calories per day without jeopardizing my weight loss and then the rest is just a bonus. It seems to be working for me.

I think its a not very sane if you eat them, after burning, 200 or 300 calories. But, I needed to ask you guys, do you 'eat' the calories you burnt?
