One of the things I do when I feel myself in your situation (and I think a lot of people have been there with us) is sign up for an event like a 5k, 10k, obstacle course, charity run, etc. Make it something you have to train for and you couldn't just go out and do tomorrow. Commit to a date and work toward getting it done. When you take your focus off the scale and concentrate more on achieving a real-life accomplishment, the day to day healthy choices are easier.

Other tricks I've used to stay on board are:
-Concentrate on a fast break goal you want to get done today... Maybe just drink 8 glasses of water. Accomplishing a goal can help get the ball rolling again.
-Set up a rewards system for scale AND non-scale victories.
-Commit to working out with a friend a day or two this week or walk with your spouse instead of tv time.
-Write yourself an honest letter about where you are, where you want be, and how you're feeling. When your do meet your goals, it's interesting to go back and remember where you were.

What has happened that you have lost motivation?

If you don't know then read these - they will give you something to think about!

* Weight not coming off fast enough

* On a restrictive diet rather than healthy lifestyle

* Excessive work-outs

* Relationship issues (friend/family/partner)

* Bored

* Employment issues

* Past emotional baggage interfering with your ability to move forward properly

* Unrealistic goals

* Health Issues

Without knowing the reason for your jumping off the wagon, I suggest that you pick yourself up and start out with baby steps again. Changing only one or two things and seeing some results - whether it be more energy, sleeping better, pride in yourself, etc. you may find it a motivator to continue.

I have always weighed all of my food and entered it into the Nutrition Tracker. That is what has kept me motivated and ensures that I am mostly within my calorie range. I will add that I still weigh/measure/record even tho' I reached my goal over 2 years ago, after having been overweight for about 30 years. When I started to see results as in clothes getting less snug, I became even more motivated because I could see that I COULD do this :-) The thing is, if you don't continue on a healthy lifestyle journey you WILL gain the weight back. Unfortunately you are the only one who can do something about it - it is up to you how much you want it and if you are prepared to continue with the healthy lifestyle. I know I am - there is NO WAY I am going back to what I was .....!

There are many sorts of snacks that you can have - I tend to mainly eat fruit as a snack because it has fibre, tends to be more filling than a lot, and is generally a lot lower in calories than a lot of alternatives. Sometimes I might make a large smoothie, but that one I will have some of for a snack, and the rest as part of a meal - generally lunch or occasionally breakfast.

Unsalted, plain popcorn is a great snack - low in calories, contains fibre and some many healthy nutrients. I sometimes use a couple dried figs and 1/2 dozen nuts - mainly as an evening snack if calories allow.

I hope that you find your motivation and also the cause of why you jumped - often identifying the cause goes a long way to solving the problem.

I haven't just fallen off, I've jumped. I have lost most of the motivation to workout, and worse yet, my eating has become anything but healthy. I was 233 at my heaviest, 173 at my lightest and I've crept up to 190 again. I need snack ideas and motivation ideas to get back on track.
